UPCOMING DATES FOR 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR
Note from Mrs. Adams
It is with mixed emotions that I let you know I will be taking a childcare leave
for the 2015-2016 school year. As many of you know we welcomed our sec-
ond son in January. I am excited to be taking time to stay home with my chil-
dren, but will miss my family at Monteith dearly! The past five years have
been some of the most fun and rewarding year of my life. I can’t think of a
better job than teaching art at such a great school. Thank you for the wonder-
ful memories.
Sincerely,
Laura Adams

Field Day 2015
What a crazy weather day we had this year for field day! Despite the very wet conditions, the
comment I heard most from students was….”best field day ever!” It appears as though
competing in the pouring rain is a fan favorite!! Volunteers were amazing the way they just
stayed out in the wet conditions and made it so fun for everyone! Thank you volunteers and
thank you PTO for sponsoring this great event. Field Day would not be possible without the
support provided by Principal Keith Howell and Monteith’s faculty. A special thank you to
Principal Keith Howell and all our wonderful staff for their support of this event.

Field Day 2015 - A Great Success!!
With 32 different event stations, students had plenty of opportunity for both participation and even a little
competition. Students traveled in groups from station to station challenging their skills. Some of the
events were designed for skill and some for maximum fun!! This year some of the favorite events were:
angry birds, CARS, trout trot, shoe kick and sponge bob. Monteith students displayed a high level of
cooperation and good sportsmanship. Monteith parents, you have one more reason to be proud of your
kids!!
Volunteers are the Greatest!!
This year our Monteith Family can boast of over 100 involved parents & grandparents, aunts & uncles
PLUS middle school and high school students earning community service hours. Also working to make
this day a success were several of our own 4th and 5th graders volunteering during the morning portion of
the day. Volunteers ran stations, set up events, filled water balloons and helped with all the details of Field
Day. An event this large is only possible with the help of many volunteers. Thank you to all of the
volunteers who contributed their time and hard work to make Field Day a great success!
A Special Acknowledgment . . . . . . .
.. . . . . . . . must go to Ty Lefebvre and Gail Howe. These “field day moms” organized the army of volunteers
in addition to shopping for all the supplies, filling water jugs and just overall keeping things running
smoothly!!! Also, thank you to Mrs. Hartman for our new event “fowling” as well as Colleen Hughes,
Tracy Gusmano and Cathy Kinnaird for the extra water and clean up help. And one more thank you…..
OF COURSE thank you to Mark Cwiklinski for donating the water for all our volunteers!
Lunchroom Supervisors
If your interested in a paid or unpaid Lunchroom Supervisor position next year, please see Patti or
Cathy in the office to sign up. We also are in need of Lunchroom Supervisor subs. This may be
more suitable for your schedule.
If you should have any questions, please contact Mary Broad at [email protected]

Thank you to all of the students and families for their partici-
pation in the Fun Run. It was a success! We reached our
goal of raising over $12,000.
Thank you to everyone who contributed time, money, sup-
port, and more!
