CMWG MissionCMWG Mission

The mission of the Group is to determine and develop standards for the media content, format, and structure of configuration information, i.e., "to develop a specification for the cost-effective and efficient interchange of Configuration Management digital data between information providers and information users."

Page 4: Configuration ManagementBusiness Value n If adopted, the recommended changes to iSpec 2200 have the potential for yielding the following business benefits: n Reduction in physical

GoalsGoals

n Develop an improved industry specification for the interchange of aircraft, engine and component configuration data.

n Improved processes, standards and techniques for identifying, defining and controlling parts on next-higher assemblies.

n Controlling the change and allowable intermix of these components throughout their lifecycle

n Recording and reporting the status of components and change requests

n Verifying the completeness and correctness of assemblies be they aircraft, engines or components.
