Scientific and * Cultural Organization 15 - 19 September 2008 Miramare-Trieste, Italy y* * The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics is organizing a conference on "Knots and other Entanglements in Biopolymers: Topological and Geometrical Aspects of DNA, RNA and Protein Structure". lometrical Aspects of DNA, RNA and The conference will bring together researchers from across disciplines to provide state-of-the-art perspectives on experimental, theoretical and computational approaches to this important area and to foster discussions and new strategies in this field. In particular, the main topics that will be addressed include: knotting, pseudoknotting, looping and entanglement of biopolymers. CALL FOR CONTRIBUTED POSTERS .• During the activity there will be a Poster Session. Participants accepted to present a poster will be contacted by the Conference Secretary with details. , At the poster session, based upon scientific merit, a limited number of participants will be selected to give a short talk. PARTICIPATION % \ . ^** Scientists from all countries, which are members of the UN, UNESCO or IAEA may attend the Course. The main purpose of the Centre is to help researchers from developing countries, within a framework of international cooperation; however, scientists from developed countries are also welcome to attend. Because ICTP activities are conducted in English, participants must be able to converse in this language. Travel and subsistence expenses are borne by the participants. However, limited funds are available for participants who are both nationals of, and working in, a developing country. There is no registration fee. Prospective participants should fill in and submit the Online Application Form that can be found at: http://aqenda.ictp.it/smr.php71963 . Please also attach a curriculum vitae (for junior applicants a recommendation letter from their supervisor is also requested).
