This year OLA turns sixty years old. We have a past tilled with accomplishments by dedi­cated men and womer~o We continue that tra­dition by sponsoring a number of proJessio nal ac1ivlties. In addition to this conference each year, OLA supp orts the publication of Oregon Library Quarte rly, a publicati on which has grown in size and professiOnal stature over t he years and is now indexed in Library Lit · erature. OLA-also supports the on· line news· leller OLA Hotl ine. the jobline l isting library positi ons open throughout the state, and the OLA web pages that provide information about our o rganization to the members and to the community at large. Finally, OLA provides mod­est operating expenses to its committees and divisions as needed fo r the support of con· tinuing edL!Cation and othEir activities, and provides funding lor leadershi"p development for· the chairpersons of the d ivisions, commit­l ees, and round tables. ·
