STUDENTS SHINE!

2015 IS THE YEAR TO SHINEFrom academics to art, all around campus you can see the lovely shining faces of the Concordia students. Whether it is time spent with diverse friends or working hard to improve at math, students have had a wonderful first half of the school year working hard towards excellence. We are looking to an even better second half of the school year to make sure to keep up the same great pace and high level of achievement both in and out of the classroom. Thank you to all the hard work for the amazing Concordia teachers and to the entire Concordia community that includes parents and friends for all the lovely effort given to make the school what it is. We are looking forward to a fantastic 2015!

Mrs. Elliott’s preschool class took a special field trip with parents to visit the conical hat making village. Not only did they have a chance to see how the hats were made, they also had a chance to try for themselves!

SCHOOL HAPPENINGS

THE HOUR OF CODE RETURNS

The Hour of Code is an hour-long introduction to computer programming designed to demystify coding and show students that everyone can learn the basics. Concordia’s students received a personal letter from Khan Academy to join this year and Mrs. Bloemberg’s fourth grade class answered the call. Here are a few snapshots of their time learning how to code. Enjoy!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 9- PARENT COFFEE @ 9AM ON CAMPUS& COME LEARN ABOUT INTERNATIONAL DAY (FEB. 6)

The parent monthly coffee social will be held this Friday on campus and we encourage all parents to attend, especially to learn more about how they can become involved in the upcoming International Festival on February 6. This parent-led day is a fun celebration of the 20 cultures that make up our Concordia community. Students dress up in their national costume and clothing and parents share games, food, and activities to teach students more about their home country.

Make sure your home country is represented and get involved!
