Conclusion

In conclusion, I feel that I contributed well to the rehearsal process, offering opinions

and creative ideas when requested. I managed my time well and took part in optional

SDS sessions, which allowed for further detail and clarification to the individual

numbers. I feel as though I could, perhaps, have done further research earlier on in

the process, which would have helped rehearsals to move at a faster pace as I would

have already had a better idea of character. This being said, I feel that my research

was well sourced and that I managed to create believable and truthful characters for

each song I performed in.

My utilization of Stanislavski acting techniques, as well as my knowledge of singing

techniques ‘Bel Canto’ and ‘Estill’ also contributed to my overall performance,

because I could apply both my research and the techniques to flesh out my

performance and make it enjoyable for an audience to view. I found the tools of peer

and self- assessment very useful when fine tuning my acting choices, because it

allowed me to focus on what wasn’t working and improve upon this (as seen in my

corrections table). I interpreted my roles slightly differently than they were originally

intended in their respective musicals, however my characters remained appropriate

to setting and genre with an added originality that I could bring to them.
