Conclinic since 1996

Conclinic, established in 1996, was the first company in Korea to develop and

apply the new technology of fiber glass composite retrofit system and obtained

Government New Excellent Technology Certificate for use of the technology.

For 10 years, Conclinic successfully completed a variety of repair and retrofit

works on infrastructures and buildings on approximately 300 projects including

bridge, tunnel, pier and wharf, power plant, railway, subway, sewer and drain

box, military facility, hotel, hospital, residential facility projects. Thus, Conclinic

has gained a wide variety of experience and is the leading company in the

application of structural repair and retrofit technology.

In addition to project commission works, Conclinic has invested large amount of

gross sales revenue every year on R & D works for technology, application and

products development in conjunction with the top universities and research

centers. Up to the present there are over 50 R&D projects have been completed

and some are under way. Through years of these efforts, Conclinic now holds

over 20 patents for new technology in the facility repair and retrofit field.

Page 4: Conclinic brochure

A research center has been built to conduct studies in structural design,

products and application development. The research center has produced

many talented top professionals in the field domestically. Through the center,

Conclinic continues to benefit by exchange of latest technologies with

companies and research centers in the US, Canada, Singapore, Finland,

Germany, Japan, etc. With the latest technologies at hand, Conclinic is

undeniably the leading domestic company in its field.

Since it was established ten years ago, Conclinic has been solidly committed

to the use of appropriate top technology, quality service and professionalism,

with priority on our client needs. Conclinicwill continue to develop new

technologies in our research. Conclinic is confident that with our in–depth

experience, and is prepared to deliver value–added service for projects in

Middle East, China, Vietnam, Philippine and other developing nations with

CAFT® SystemConclinic Advanced Fiber Tensionning System

Description Registered patent no. 10–0489373

CAFT System is a retrofit method of structures strengthened by

unbonded CFRP plate prestressing. CFRP is brittle material, but its

tensile strength is about ten times as large as steel. For anchoring CFRP

plate to retrofit structure, a couple of wedge-shaped plate and special

safeguard tap protecting CFRP from stress rupture are developed by

KICT(Korea Institute of Construction Technology). The wedge-shaped

plate and anchoring device are made of aluminium alloy which is

seldom corrode.

Active retrofit method compared with bonding sheet method

No epoxy spreading

Uses

Property

High retrofit efficiency compared with retrofit area by prestressing

CFRP plate

 Unbonding system

Excellent constructability and short construction time

 Stopping crack propagation

Reduction of tensile stress in steel after retrofit

 Easy measurement of tensioning force

Little relaxation in CFRP, no corrosion in anchoring system made of
