Concero “Open House” January 2014 Matti Orion and its partners showed a range of Pre and Post Processing Solutions at the Concero Open House. The event featured a comprehensive range of equipment, which was configured to show a wide range of applications from a simple roll to roll system, dynamic post processing converting, book stitching to the Concero high speed pressure sealing system.

The display incorporated a Matti Orion – Roll Feed MOU5020 feeding pre-printed pressure seal stock into the new Spedo - Pinless Guillotine. The cut sheet output was delivered onto a register table prior to folding in the Encore Fold System. The folded output was then fed into the Paragon – Pressure Sealer delivering the sealed documents onto a shingling table prior to stacking. The system was demonstrated running at speeds of up to 125 mtrs/min

2) Post Processing Multi-Function Paper Finishing Solution: The line incorporated a Matti Orion Unwind, Model MOU5020/ACC feeding pre-printed stock with a page/cue mark into the MFP Multi-Function Processor. To demonstrate how adaptable the MFP is, the unit was configured with 2 file hole cartridges, 2 horizontal perforating beams, sprocket punching and a spare slot, controlled by 2D Data Matrix readers a page/Cue mark reader for post printer applications. During the Concero Open House the MFP was programed to run as a post printer device sprocket punching, horizontal perforations for page fold and GIRO tear off, with the file hole cartridge punching on random pages.

To show how uniquely flexible the unit is, by changing the program the unit could run as a dynamic unit with selective file hole punching, dynamically selectable horizontal perforations, continuous sprocket punching control by the 2D readers. By utilising the expansive options package the MFP can be configured as a pre or post possessing device, with multiple converting processes, including

sprocket punching, pattern die cutting, file hole punching, ink jet print heads, flexographic and letterpress print modules, cameras, security punching, horizontal and vertical perforators, can be controlled by barcode or 2D codes for both pinned and pinless paper. Ideal for applications such as Transpromo, Security Printing, Itemised billing applications, Statements, certificates and coupons. The output web from the MFP was either fed into a MOR5020/ACC Rewinder Model TR5020 or turned 90 degrees into a MCF20 Folder. To increase work flow and print line efficiency the folder was configured with a Vertical Stacker Model VST20, The stacker can accept up to 12,000 documents. To demonstrate the accuracy of sprocket punching and production of fold perforations post printer. The folder was mainly used producing high quality packs, demonstrations were made to show how the MFP registers to the page mark at start up without any intervention to the folder from only the Printer Page/Cue mark.

3) Roll to Roll System Featuring a Paper Processor: This display featured an Unwinder, Model MTU5020 feeding paper into a Paper Processor Model BPP20 configured for sprocket punching and cross perforating, the out was then rewound on a MTR5020 Rewinder.
