post is for fellow bookworms and is not to be taken too seriously, but rather on an informative

level; it's merely a reccomendation to read awesome books.

ALL the credit goes to the righteous owner, ANONYMOUS

Now, let's start this madness, shall we.

This are the 'unified' covers of the trilogy:

Then there are the 'non-unified' covers, if you want something different:

And lastly, the Czech covers, since I am Czech, I thought it'd be good to include them. Oh, and

yes, we don't have the third book out yet, because Alpress are lazy bastards not wanting to

translate The Devil's Graveyard:

You decide which ones you like more or if you want me to include other covers, just let me

know. =)

First, let me tell you something about this particular ANONYMOUS.

Now the question is, if there is something to tell, because he indeed IS anonymous and keeps

his anonymity way too well, which is good. Some secrets are to be kept secrets. That is pretty much all that is to be said about ANONYMOUS, believe it or not.

Secondly, the most important news is that The Book of Death is to be released this year,

sometime in late spring or early summer = April/May.

But as far as I know, the release date is only known for France so far, that is 26.4. 2012.

UK release dates are not, but if anyone will be interested, I'll definitely keep you updated.

Now let's talk about each of the books.

I'll try my best not to spoil too much, so you who are reading this actually will be able to enjoy

it without being angry about me making spoilers.

Firstly, I have to admit that I read the first two books in Czech. Not too bad, but I did have some

objections to how some things were translated. Of course it's nothing like reading the original

English version.

To be honest, the book lost a fair amount of the puns through the translation, which is a pity.

Last fact to mention is the undeniable Tarantino vibe you get from these books and there are

some other cool references too.

The Book With No Name:

The first book of the quadrology. This book also The Eye of the Moon take place in Santa

Mondega.

You could imagine it a sort of those 'Wild West' drive-through bigger villages, but only moremodern and a bit 'snazzier' and having supernatural creature living there.

The book is basically centred around two events; firstly, the lunar eclipse and with it

connected celebration and the two Hubal monks, Kyle and Peto, searching for the blue crystal

'The Eye of the Moon', for it has been stolen from their order. So they set out to find it.

Page 3: Concept BK Post

The celebration is basically an even crazier option to Halloween. I can't say anything else,

because this is connected with the most epic event of the book.

There are a lot of characters you get to know in this book.

Namely, the main badass the Bourbon Kid, Casper, Sanchez the bartender and owner of the bar

El Tapioca (it's a bar where non-smokers are banned and so are abstinents), The Mystic Lady,

the Hubal monks Kyle & Peto, Elvis the hitman (yes, the King);Jessica the Amnesiac, Rodeo Rex the vampire and werewolf hunter, Jefe, Marcus the Weasel;

the corniest couple ever, Dante & Kacy; El Santino and his bodyguards Carlito and Miguel and

the last two main characters, detectives Somers and Jensen.

You might get lost when being introduced to all the characters, but fear not, it's not all too bad.

You always will know when the character is going to die a horrible death ;)

Not telling who though, since I vowed not to spoil.

One also does get to know why the hell Jessica is amnesiac.

THE QUESTION going like a red linen throughout the whole book: WHY THE HELL

BOURBON?! You have it, right? Not telling, because you GET TO KNOW in the The Eye of

the Moon.

While reading, you do have to pay some attention to the timelines because you might get lost, for they play in the more distant past, not so long ago and in present time.

Not only is this book action-packed, but it also has a horror, fantasy and thriller element

to it; not to mention the awesome sarcastic and dark sense of humour.

As the blurb says: 'This particular anonymous has decided to take a fistful of drugs and gone on

a literary genre-bender', so expect features from all genres you can imagine, funny puns and

references too.

Summing up, this book introduces us to the Bourbon Kid and all the other characters from

whom couple of othem we will meet in the other books, to Santa Mondega and to the awesome

insanity of the books.

Now, this all sounds all neat and cool, right? I agree.

Yet this book does have slight downsides, which are firstly, the sometimes a bit tricky to follow

timeline (I didn't have any problems following, but some people might.) Secondly, the

neverending coming of characters, but hell, some of them die so that makes things easier, right?

Thirdly, this book leaves you with so many questions that it's not even possible. It's almost like

a torture, but all of them get answered in

The Eye of the Moon:

The second book in the quadrology. It also takes place in the already familiar Santa

Mondega. That is, if you read the first book and didn't read The Eye of the Moon as first, which

was a mistake I did; but it did not ruin The Book With No Name for me.Yet the fact that it wouldn't ruin the Book With No Name doesn't necessarily mean that you

SHOULD read this book first.

So if you didn't, go read The Book With No Name first.

This book is mainly centered around the Bourbon Kid's past and explains all the details

why he became like he is, what events led to him being a psycho with a drinking problem; why

he lets Sanchez always alive and most importantly, WHY THE HELL BOURBON?!

Another main element is the blue crystal 'The Eye of the Moon'... AGAIN!

Sheesh, the Hubal monks should seriously guard it better -__-

Overall, this book has more hilarious moments than The Book With No Name.

In this book, we meet Sanchez again, of course.

What would the book be without our friendly neighbourhood bartender and of course theBourbon Kid, Dante & Kacy and some other characters from the first book.

I won't tell you who, because I swore not to spoil, RIGHT? =P

Another main characters are Rameses Gaius, special agent Swan, some random cool vampire

gang, consisting of couple awesome vampires (you WILL get to know their names). To be

mentioned from them is Fritz, for he is the most hilarious one.

Another characters are the corrupt cops De La Cruz and his buddies Benson and Hunter.

Also, holy fucking shit, vampires dressed as clowns... people with Coulrophobia (phobia of

clowns) are advised to skip the bit where they appear, for they might have nightmares for weeks

after.

New characters appear and again go. I won't tell if on or into the depths of hell. The most hilarious one is for sure a werewolf called MC Pedro.

I won't tell you why, you'll have to find out for yourself. ;)

So to sum up, The Eye of the Moon is one big explanation and flashbacks, but it is still

fruitful what concerns events and it does provide yet again an EPIC event.

And believe me, you will ROAR with laughter at certain bits. I loved these so much. It provided

good relief from all the tension.

The Devil's Graveyard:

Where should I start...Oh yeah. This book is full of car chases, run chases, shooting, singing and ZOMBIES.

The main element is the Pop Idol-like singing contest for impersonators of all singers your can

imagine.

This contest is not like 'Britain's got Talent'. It does have the judges and so on around it, but

certain circumstances make it 'a bit' different.

It focuses only on certain 'singers' though.

You will or sure be amused when you get to know which ones and what songs they will sing.

You should know that this book DOESN'T pick up where The Eye of the Moon ended.

I dare to call it a filler in between The Book With No Name and The Eye of the Moon, but that is

of course only my assumption.

That is for the others to decide when they will have read the book.

Character-wise, we yet again meet the 'friendly' bartender Sanchez, the Bourbon Kid, of

course.

Then we meet the Invincible Angus, Gabriel and Julius. In order not to spoil, no details. =P

On top of that of course some other notoriously known characters from the previous two books.

Yet again, not telling who we meet again aside these two. ;)

All in all, this book is one crazy road movie with LOT OF action, zombies, singing and

all that jazz.

Also, interesting things we to know about the Bourbon Kid again.

Only thing I have to add is: REMIND yourself to breathe...

You will get why I am warning you, while you will be reading.

ENJOY ALL THE BOOKS GUYS.

WARNING: You WILL feel sympathy for the Bourbon Kid and fangirl/fanboy over a

 psycho with a drinking problem.

You WILL get hooked once you read The Book With No Name.

Which is a not bad thing at all, for the Bourbon Kid needs new names for his hitlist.

The End (maybe...)
