Hello!I’mTrang!Justyouraveragegirlgoingtohighschool.Nothingspecial.Currently,IamattendingLincolnHighschoolinTacoma,Washing-ton.Lookingasidealloftheformalstuff,mygoalinlifeistosucceed,exeedandmakesomethingofmyself.HowdoIdothat?Ihaveadrive,motivation,anddedicationthatleadstometosucess.Well,youcansaythatIalwaysgivemyallinanysituationthatIamputin.Currently,IamKeyClubpresi-dent.Whatmyjobentailsisleadingourclub,organizinginformation,hav-ingapositiveadditude,presentingserviceprojects,andsomuchmore!Itsnothard,anditisveryfun!Ifeelthatyoucan’tgoanywhereelsebutup.SoIalwaysaimhigh.Ienjoysinging,drawing,reading,andcommunityservice.Currently,IbelieveIhaveover200hoursofcommunityservice.Caringforthecommunitygivesyouafeelingthatwordscannotexplain.Itiswonder-fulwhenyoucanhavethesatisfactioninsayingthatyouhelpedsomeonewhoneededit.Asacareer,Iwishtopursueajobinthemedicalfield.Apersonshealthdetermineshowlongtheyaregoingtolive.IfeelthatifI’mabletohelpinthatprocess,thenIcancreatepositiveimpactsintheworld.Oneofmylifegoalsistovolunteerinathirdworldcountry.Withamedicalbackground,Iwillbeabletohelpwiththegreateststruggleofthemall,thestruggletolive.Hopefully,mydreamswillbeaccomplished!Wishmeluck.

Professional.KeyClubThemostimportantaffiliationinschoolisKeyClub.KeyclubstandsforKiwanisEducatedYouth.Itsmottois“caring-ourwayoflife”.Thisclubpromotescommunityservice,leadership,andanallovergoodperson.Currently,IstandasthepresidentofLincolnHighSchoolsKeyClub.However,inthefollow-ingyear,IwillbepromotedtoLieutenantGovenorstatus.Intheseroles,Imustbeaeffectivecommunicator,problemsolver,workwellwithothers,andberesponsible.

UnitedWayVolunteerismhasalwaysbeenamainfocusinmylife.Whenvolunteer-ing,Ifeelthatanindividualcanreachhigherforagreaterpurpose-tohelpothers.Throughoutthisyear,Ihaveexperiencedbeingamentor,andafriendforchildrenduringsummercamp,(attheChildrensMuseumofTacoma),wascompanyforpeoplewhoarelonleyatanursinghome,providedsomethingtolookforwardtoointhelivesofchildrenwhodidn’thavereadilyavailableresources,andsomuchmore.Justhelpingsomeoneoutintheirdailylivesisagreatfeeling.TheUnitedWayorganization-anonprofitpromotingvolunteerismhasayouthprogramwherenormalhighschoolerscanmakeanimpactintheircommunity.

HealthExplorersThesimplequestionofwhatIwanttobewhenIgrowupconstantlypondersmymind.WhatwillIbe,whatwillIdo?Thereareaworldofoppertunitites!OneconsiderationIhavehadforalongtimeistobecomeadoc-tor.ThatiswhyIjoinedtheHealthExplorersandNurseCampprogramwithMulticare.Intheseprograms,weareabletoearnourcertificationinCPR,Firstaid,gainhandsonexperienceinthehospital,andhavevalubleguestspeakersfromvarioushealthprofes-sions.

Professional.EnvironmentalClubHavingbeeninEnvironmentalclubfortwoyears,wenotonlytrytofindwaystopromotesustainingtheenviron-ment,weinvolveourselveswithplantwork,andculturalawareness.Annually,wehaveaplantsalewhereenviron-mentalsciencestudents,andclubmembersjointogethertosellplantstocelebratemothersday.Wefrequentlydocampuscleanups,andweareevensponsoringatriptoCostaRicawiththespanishclass.InJuneof2012,Ialongwith13otherstudentsaregoingtoCostaRica.Thisiswherewewillseethebiodiversityofthejungles/forest,aswellasunderstandingtheculturalaspectsofCostaRica

LionDancingBeingVietnamese,celebratingtheLunarNewYearisanannualtraditionfilledwithfun,laughter,anddancing.Dragon/liondancingisonewaywherewekickoffthenewyear,andIhavetosayitisablast.Thishobbieisquiteenjoyable!Thefirecrackersfillyouwithadreneline,anditmakesyouappreci-ateyourcultureevenmore.Thoughthehardworkisnormallystereotypedtowardsguys,ourgroupisdiverseamongstagesandgender.Iloveliondancing!

AltarServe!MyreligionthatIholdtogreatimportanceisCatholicism.Thisreligionhasbeenapartofmyentirelife,anditsurelyhasinfluencedmylifegreatly.MyfriendEnaandIhavebeenaltarservingtogethersincethethirdgrade.Wehavetohelpthepriestduringmasstowhateverheneeds.Thisincludessettingthealtar,proceedingthemass,andthelittlethingsthatmakemassgosmoothly.Thishastaughtmepatience,andgivenmemorerespectformyreligion.Ialtarserveeveryotherweek,andIlovedoingit!

BitmapSelfPortraitThispicturealongwiththepicturesonthe‘aboutme’pagewasmedeusingphotoshop.HowIwasabletomakethispossiblewasusinganbitmapimageofmyself(pixels),andvariousfilters,brushes,importedimages,andotherphotoshopgoodies,Icreatedabstractselfportraitsofmyselfthatdisplayedmypersonality.

HolidayCardTocelebratetheholidayseason,afunprojectformewasmakingaholidaycard.Usingphotoshop,Idecidedtomakeatreeinthesnow.Usingagradientbackground,animportedSanta’sSleigh,variousbrushes,andatreetemplate,Iwasabletocreatethisbeautifulholidaycard.
