Cutting, Punching & ScoringBulk rolls can be cut, punched or scored on TMI’s proprietary press-feed machines which perform converting operations in a fraction of the time, saving you and your customers money. Available on almost any size roll.

Die CuttingCustom die cutting is available for applications requiring specially sized pieces. TMI has � ve die cutting machines including a fully automatic traveling head press, a beam press, a roller die and two clicker dies. These machines can handle material as large as 40’’ x 60’’ and can punch up to 600 cycles per hour. No minimums are required.

Panel CuttingExtra thick PVC panels, ranging from ¼” to ½” thick, can be cut to size using pneumatically operated cutting machines that create accurate, straight, square, clean cuts up to 17’ in length. If desired, panels can be re-rolled in the opposite direction to reduce PVC’s natural curl.

Put-Up ChangesTMI can convert rolls to your speci� ed length. Our rewinds enable the newly sized roll to be rewound onto a new core after being cut to size. Available on master rolls only.

Flash CuttingIncorporating a programmable, computer-controlled head, � ash cutting makes it possible to accurately cut complex, intricate angles and other specialty shapes for pieces up to 60’’ wide and 116’’ long.

SlittingTMI’s slitting services cut PVC rolls and sheets into smaller rolls based on custom speci� cations. Slit widths range from 1” to 76”. Thickness parameters may vary by material.

SheetingMaster rolls and slit rolls can be sheeted to exact speci� cations. Sheets are available in sizes up to 54” x 72”. Tissue interleaving and/or dusting can be used to prevent sheets from sticking together.

Cutting and Converting Services

Electro-Static DustingElectro-static dusting applies a controlled layer of dusting material to the PVC roll, removing tackiness and making the layers easier to separate. Dusting levels can be adjusted from light (level 1) to very heavy (level 10) to meet your requirements.

NormalizingWhen PVC is stored in a rolled position, it can curl to the shape of the roll. Normalizing � attens � exible PVC panels through a controlled-heat, softening process. Normalized panels are shipped � at and tissue-interleaved on custom skids for added protection.

Tissue InterleavingPVC can possess a tacky feel that makes rolls hard to unwind and separate. Tissue interleaving places a sheet of lightweight paper between each layer, making the PVC extremely easy to unroll. Tissue can also be applied while slitting or sheeting.

Static ReductionUtilizing a static elimination bar can reduce static charge within PVC rolls. This reduced static charge helps prevent dust contamination and static buildup. Static reduction can be applied as rolls are being rewound for put-up changes or while be converted (Maximum roll width for static reduction is 76”).

Rewinding Services

RF WeldingRadio frequency (RF) welding (heat-sealing) permanently bonds PVC and supported fabric sheets. It’s used to manufacture larger PVC sheets and curtains with durable hems. Films, supported vinyls, strips and sheets up to .160” thick can be heat-sealed and seams can vary in width from ½” to 2”. TMI machines can handle seals up to 96” wide. Special heat-sealing dies are also available to meet your speci� c requirements.
