EDU360 is UNIPETROL GROUP comprehen-sive educational support concept. We annuallycontribute approx. 20 million Kč to educationprograms in the Czech Republic. Starting withthe youngest, we implement projects inprimary schools, high schools and universitiesand formally honor high performing studentsand teachers throughout.

School education starts with teachers. We aim to besupportive and encouraging. Our 4EDU Conferenceconsists of expert-led workshops and other substantivehelp, such as sharing best practices, for teachers.EDUbus, a mobile laboratory, is a practical workshop forteachers as well.

Theory is important, but the practical side of science speakslouder. That‘s why we provide schools with laboratoryequipment. We call it a Chemical Bazaar. Additionally,the computers no longer used by the company but still goodfor use are conveyed to school in our PC Bazaar Program.

We also finance Summer and Autumn School forChemistry Teachers.

We are passionate about chemistry and do our best tointroduce it to youth and show it can be fun. EDUbus isa mobile chemical laboratory, which offers a series ofeducational programs & experiments and is designedfor children and teachers.

Having realized how appreciated it is, we establishedanother educational and fun project called Báječný dens chemií – we invite 13-15 year-old school childrento chemistry performances given by respected scientistslike MICHAEL LONDESBOROUGH.So far, 3300 children from 70 schools have participatedin the program.

Chemistry Olympics are a unique challenge for students.We sponsor this opportunity for students to learn and stepout of their comfort zone. We organize Students ScientificConference in co-operation with Vysoká škola chemicko-technologická v Praze (VŠCHT) and the UniCRE ResearchCentre.We are a Partner of Secondary School of EnvironmentalProtection in Litvinov and Secondary School in Mezibori.We open our refinery for excursions and give lectures.Friday with science is a series of monthly presentations forschools in co-operation with outstanding scientists.We stay active during holidays by financing SummerSchool for Students. As sports education is also important,we support Litvinov Hockey Team.

We appreciate creativity among the youth and encourageschool children to take part in innovational scientificprojects.One of these is the HORIZON GRAND PRIX, where bestteams from all over the world compete in a race of self-made hydrogen powered remote control cars.We in Unipetrol believe that hydrogen is the fuel of thefuture, so it will not come as surprise that we invite allCzech schools to participate in the Horizon Grand Prix.Six best schools get money to design an innovative carmodel to win over other international teams. This year ourCzech team gained 10th position.

Over 17 years ago, we established co-operation withVysoká škola chemicko-technologická v Praze (VŠCHT).As a part of this long-term co-operation we set upUniversity Centre UCT Prague – Unipetrol insideUnipetrol’s plant in Litvínov which combines study withreal-life practice. This a unique project in the region.

We finance a Modern Chemistry Hour supported byVŠCHT, during which best students teach chemistryin primary schools.
