COMPOSITION 1 POSITIVE DISCRIMINATION Positive discrimination is a concept that was born more or less thirty years ago in the developed World and that consist in developing affirmative policies to counteract those situations of inequality suffered by some minorities. In many cases these policies have been very effective in order to fight against sexual or racist discrimination like the prohibition for black people to attend classes in university in the sixties or the different salaries obtained by men and women in the factories all over the world. I know that nowadays many people still support them and that is the reason why western Governments implement this kind of policies. Nevertheless and as far as women is concerned, i think that though women have been considered lower than men for many decades, this is not the case in our country now and neither in our neighbors so regarding women I am against the positive discrimination especially in politics. From my point of view this fact has caused that in order to implement this policy many underprepared women have been nominated to occupy high responsibilities. Besides, instead of looking for the best candidates, politicians usually try to situate their best friends. I did never felt different from men and then I am the type of person that considers as an insult that men have to decide which women they choose instead of being a natural process in which the best candidates either men or women are nominated. As a conclusion, I think that we should be very careful when dealing with these issues because of trying to
