BIDAR: Main crops Stage Agricultural Advisories

General

For the effective management of Gram pod borer, application of 0.2 gram Emamectin benzoate 5SG or

0.1 ml spinosad 45SC or 0.15ml cloroantraniliprole 18.5SC dissolved in one liter of water and then

sprayed.

Sorghum vegetative 20-25 days after sowing of sorghum, shootbug menace can be countered by spraying with

Cypermethrin10EC i.e by dissolving 2ml in one liter of water

Application of Lambda cyaloholothrin at the rate of 1ml per liter of water to protect the crop from the

menace of Army worm.

Soybean

Storage Bruchid Management in the storage

In order to protect the pulse seeds from the ravage of bruchids ,Farmers are advised to take up seed

treatment measures by the use of non drying oils such as Castor oil and Honge oil (10gm) per kg of seeds.

Sugarcane New

plantation

& Ratoon

crop

Farmers are advised to take up improved sugarcane variety Co-86032 for new plantation. Setts required

for one acre is treated with carbendazim 40gm plus chloropyrifos40mlplus urea 40 gram, all these

ingradients are dissolved in 40 liters of water for 10 minutes shade dried and used.

4 kg of Azospirillum and 4 kg of PSB mixed thoroughly with vermicompost required for one acre prior

to the sugarcane planting

Integrated Management of Woolly aphid in Sugarcane ratoon crop

1.These pest management tactics must be followed on community basis.

2 Don’t use infected setts for planting.

3 .Adoption of paired row system of planting.

4 .providing better drainage facilities to flush out the standing water in the field.

5 .Excess use of nitrogeneous fertilisers must be avoided

Always adopt judicious use of chemical fertilisers.

6. Biological control:Release of adults of Micromus egoratus or

pupa of Dipha aphidivora into the infested field.

7 Application of Acephate and neem by dissolving 1 gram and 2ml in one liter of water

gives good control.

Pigeon pea Flowering

sprayed.

Animal Husbandry For effective management of livestock ectoparasites, application of Flumethrin 1% is recommended.

Integrated Management of Foot &Mouth Disease in Cattles

Honey or 2gram of boric acid powder dissolved in 100 ml of glycerol solution, carefully

apply to the affected part of the tongue.

Infected animals were treated with 1% potassium Permanganate or 0.5% sodium

carbonatesolution along with lukewarm water once in a day about 3-4 times the infected

part must be cleaned .As a preventive measure, the healthy animals must be given

FMD Vaccination twice a year.In case of severe fever, antibiotics along with pain reliever

vaccination is undertaken.Cattleshed must be always kept clean,in order to protect the
