Over the next decade, U.S. jobs requiring some level of

postsecondary education is expected to grow to

63 percent. By 2018, it is expected that the United

States will need 22 million new college degrees and

over 4.7 million additional workers with postsecondary

certificates but will fall short of these needs by

over 3 million.

Goal 4.1 Create Stackable Careers and Academic pathways that incorporate Industry relevant and post secondary credentials which lead to a sustainable income.

Outcome: Students will acquire stackable Industry recognized credentials that lead to a living wage.

Targets (FY15): 1. Will identify and develop 30 programs as Stackable Certificates and/or Degrees.2. Will develop plan for publishing, print and online, the programs identified as Stackable Certificates

and/or Degrees.3. Will work with High schools to develop 40 programs of studies for grades 9-14.4. 50% of all area college and high school counselors will have participated in a program to inform them of

Programs of Studies and Stackable Careers.
