History Of National Park

1872, United States National Park System grown from a single reservation. ( Yellowstone National Park ) Embrace over 450 natural, historical, recreational and culture areas. Idea credited to the artist named George Catlin.On August 25 1916, President Woodrow Wilson created the National Park Service.

• First national park • Established in 1938 • Originally named in 1939 as the King

George V Park.• Rename as Taman Negara in 1957

• First national park east of Mississippi river .

• Establish at 1919• Rename as Acadia in 1929

• Comprises 4343 squarekilometers

• Maintains a natural habitat for a variety of flora and fauna.

• Trees are hundreds of years old and form a giant canopy.

• Oldest tropical rain forest.• > 300 species of birds• 10,000 plants, 150,000 insects,

25,000 invertebrates, 675 birds, 270 reptiles, 250 freshwater fish and 200 mammal.

• 190 square kilometers• Maintains a natural habitat for a

variety of flora and fauna.• It contains of mountains , ocean,

lake, wetland, coastal and forest• over 20% of Acadia National Park

is classified as wetland
