COMPUTER STUDIES DEPARTMENT CLASS SCHEDULER (Kristina Mae E. Cabuslay & Lotus B. Delfin, March 2011)
Abstract
Scheduling is the process of deciding how to commit resources between varieties of possible tasks.
It greatly affects the flow of organizing different classes. The computer studies department class
scheduler is created to minimize the scheduling problems which usually occur when the room,
time, subject and teacher are not centralized. This system facilitates convenient class planning and
scheduling. It makes class schedules more accurate and efficient because it can determine the
feasible combination of faculty members, rooms, time periods and subjects that should be offered
based on the curriculum for a particular semester and school year. Absence of this system makes
class scheduling a heavy task. Thus, this system is created to organize the schedule of all the subject
courses in the Computer Studies Department of the College of Engineering and Technology –
specifying the time slots and room assignments for all subjects. This will generate report for the
whole class schedules. The system is pilot tested in the Computer studies department so that it can
be employed by other colleges/departments in the university.

COMPUTER STUDIES DEPARTMENT OFFICE FILE MANAGER (Alex M. Loraña & Kristine A. Calonce, March 2011)
Abstract
The Computer Studies Department is one of the departments under the College of Engineering and
Technology that is in-charge of the Computer Science and Information Technology programs. The
Department has encountered several problems such as: improper arrangement of files / difficulties
in retrieving the files; forgotten schedules of meetings and conferences; improper recording of
borrowed books, thesis, and other teaching materials; and improper recording of information.
Thus, this study aimed to provide the Computer Studies Department Office with an office file
manager that will facilitate the organization of the records of teachers, students, and other office-
related documents for proper monitoring, faster retrieval and searching of files. The project is
expected to perform the adding, deleting, updating and searching of different files. Furthermore the
project includes a logbook application that would track the records of borrowed and returned files,
books, thesis and the like. Printings of tables are included but are not designed as crystal reports
and reminder application. The Project is not concerned with the consistency of virtual location and
actual locations in the office but rather includes multiple user accounts. The persons involved in the
proposed project are the department head of the Computer Studies Department and the heads of
other departments. If successfully pilot tested in the Computer Studies Department, the project can
be introduced to the offices at NDMU where it is applicable. Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 is relatively
easy to learn and use for programming languages because of its graphical development features
and BASIC heritage. It was found out that Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 is adequate because of its
standard, built-in functions, and methods for image operations. Overall, the program is perceived to
be acceptable by the users and information technology experts. Based on findings of the study,
further modification of the program is recommended to improve the different aspects of the
program such as its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, and maintainability. The following
are the recommendations for future enhancement, namely: add function for adding and deleting
courses; the alarm of the reminder should automatically pop-up even the file manager application is
not open; add new function of file code for each file type; and the subject must be set for every
semester.

ELECTRONIC GRADING SYSTEM NOTRE DAME OF NEW ILOILO (Lawrene N. Manlapao &, Ame J. Peñol, March 2011)
Abstract
This study aimed to improve the manual computation of grades and storing of grades in the class
records and spreadsheets used by Notre Dame of New Iloilo (NDNI). The current grading system
which uses spreadsheet is difficult on the part of the teachers. Not all teachers are fully computer
literate and they have to process the student’s grade by themselves without the proper monitoring
of the administrator. In response to the problem, the Electronic Grading System (EGS) as a solution
is introduced. It is a user-friendly program; a well guided system operation with dynamic fields as
its special feature that can store scores and compute grade automatically. Moreover, the EGS is
flexible. The user can always add new grade components to the system that would fit to the need of
the users; they don’t have to stick with the grade components which are already set.

HONDA SOCSARGEN ONLINE SERVICES (Jonald L. Catoto; Esther Grace L. Millan & Carroll C. Yder, March 2011)
Abstract
Online advertising is a good form of business campaign because it will increase customer reach by
exposing the products and services of the company in the Internet. The proponents believe that the
more variety of online advertising is used, the more the business becomes successful. The
researchers developed the ecommerce website exclusively for Honda Socsargen, because the
company aims to expose their products through-out the community. Through this online service
the Honda products would become accessible to the buyers on-line. This is a study on the Honda
Socsargen Online Services, an online software designed and developed using the osCommerce
(“open source Commerce”), an e-commerce and online store-management software program. The
proposed site contains a various features similar to Home, New Products, Promos, My Account –
wherein the customers can view the new products available. To have full access to the website, the
user should register for membership. The registered members can purchase Honda apparels and
spare parts online via credit card or cash-on-delivery as the process of payment. In addition the
Honda motorcycle units are open for online reservation.

INVENTORY AND CHECKING SYSTEM (Jessie James O. Lamigo; Dabbie Joy F. Frondoza; & Dana Marie D. Miguel, March 2011)
Abstract
The Motorcycle Parts Inventory, Sales and Checking System automatically monitors inventory
amounts, provides information concerning inventory, and decides if an order for replacement
inventory should be placed. The system includes storage for inventory, an indicator for monitoring
the motorcycle parts and reporting the level of current inventory of the items, and a controller for
receiving information from different inventory suppliers. The integrated information on the status
of inventory is used to decide whether an order for the replacement of the inventory should be
made. An order is placed automatically to a supplier and the progress for the delivery of
replacement inventory is automatically monitored. A method using this system for managing
inventory includes the steps of automatic gathering information about the current inventory and
deciding when replacement inventory should be ordered. This system helps keep track the flow of
products and supplies whether it is fast moving, slow moving, or non-moving. It also generates
invoices and reports on inventory for printing. This application can be easily installed on most
desktop or laptop.

ROMUALDEZ SKIN AND EYE CLINIC AUTOMATED INFORMATION SYSTEM (Claville Rushtine R. Beato & Esther S. Tamparong, March 2011)
Abstract
The number of patients of the Romualdez Skin and Eye Clinic is continuously increasing which
made the recording work of the clinic secretary quite difficult. To facilitate an easier recording of
documents of patients, the proponents of this study introduced the automated information system.
The system has the capacity to locate the records of patients in the past easily, can determine the
income of the clinic on specific date, and can make inventory of sales. The purpose of this thesis is
to study the Patient’s Information System (PIS) of Romualdez Skin and Eye Clinic located in the City
of Koronadal. The study was conducted at the treatment center of Romualdez Skin and Eye clinic
owned by the couple who are skin and eye specialists. To create this system, the proponents used
System Development Life System (SDLC). The system was designed for the three (3) users: the
Secretary and the two (2) physicians of Romualdez Skin and Eye Clinic. In coming up with the
system, the proponents conducted interview with the stakeholders in order to know the needs of
the users. Observation was also performed in starting the system. An automated prescription is one
of the best features of the system wherein the processes of product selling and prescriptions can be
changed. The system is not online, however, it can make reservations for consultation transactions.

VIRTUAL DIRECTORY MAP OF NOTRE DAME OF MARBEL UNIVERSITY (Kristha Luoise G. Porras & Cheyssel L. Vega, March 2011)
Abstract
Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU), the only university in Koronadal City, conducts seminars
for students and professionals all over the country. With the rapid change in physical structures of
the University, many visitors are not familiar with the locations of building and infrastructures of
the University. Thus, the researchers conducted a project on the Virtual Directory Map of NDMU so
that the visitors can easily locate the specific place where they are going. This study is intended to
the visitors of the University who are attending seminars at St. Marcellin Champagnat Hall.
Considering the technical “know how” of the visitors, who are generally in the age bracket of 20-60
years old, the researchers designed a user-friendly software. The application of the software is very
simple; users can easily use the software by themselves without asking assistance from somebody.
In general, the Virtual Directory Map is a useful software that helps improve the delivery of
University services to the visitors. It helps the visitors feel at ease with the location of various
structures of the University. It satisfies the needs of the users in locating for places inside the
university.
