Variant Wizard: Shadow Mage

With the approval of your DM, you may use thefollowing variant features in place of the ones inthe PHB when you choose the School of Illusion asyour Arcane Tradition for the wizard class. If thereis not a variant feature listed for a particular level,you instead gain the normal feature for the Schoolof Illusion.

Minor Phantasm

When you choose this school at2nd level, you learn the minor illusion cantrip. If you already know this cantrip, you learn a different

wizard cantrip of your choice. The cantrip doesn'tcount against the maximum number of cantripsknown. When you cast minor illusion , you mayreplicate the effects of any evocation cantrip fromany spell list. When you do so, you deal damage asa 1st level caster of the spell, and the cantrip dealspyschic damage. Furthermore, the target is allowedan Intelligence saving throw against your spell saveDC, becoming immune to any further uses of Minor Phantasm by you for the next 24 hours.

Shadowed Spell

Starting at 6th level, you mayinfuse your evocation spells with illusory shadowmagic. When you cast a wizard evocation spell of 1st level or higher, you may cast the spell asthough you expended a slot one level higher than

you did, so long as you posess at least one spellslot of that higher level. When you use this feature,the target or targets of the spell must make anIntelligence saving throw against your spell saveDC. On a success, they take no damage from theextra level. On a failure, they suffer the effects of the spell at the higher level. You may use thisfeature a number of times per long rest equal toyour Intelligence modifier (minimum of once)
