PRODUCT & SERVICE OFFERINGS
The Compdata StoryIt’s a good oneWith years of experience working in compensation, Compdata’s founders recognized an important gap in the pay and benefits data made available to companies. HR professionals needed an affordable, yet reliable compensation data resource, one that could help them build compensation plans to attract and retain quality employees. In 1988, Compdata Surveys launched to meet this need.
In the early days, Compdata focused primarily on state data, working with state Chambers of Commerce to create a comprehensive survey for their members. However, there was a greater need than we had even realized. Compdata flourished with customers across multiple industries, and by our tenth year, we serviced 10,000 customers.
We continue to see unparalleled growth in the scope and size of our surveys and database, as well as the number of clients we serve. To complement our comprehensive surveys, we launched a consulting division in 2012. We help customers turn data into customized and effective compensation and total rewards programs. Our consultants partner with clients on job evaluation, market reviews, executive compensation, benefits programs and other tailored approaches that make sense for an organization. Our experienced consultants are dedicated to creating client-focused, value-added experiences that meet objectives and exceed expectations.
As we look to the future, we are dedicated to providing you with quality data at a sensible price. We are dedicated to helping you design comprehensive and effective compensation programs. We are dedicated to helping you navigate the complex compensation challenges your organization faces. Stress no more, your solution is here.

Consulting Case StudyThe Challenge:• High turnover rate in Staff RN positions
• Staff shortage had potential to put quality patient care in jeopardy
• Remaining RNs working longer shifts with fewer days off
• HR spending a significant amount of time recruiting and on-boarding new Staff RNs
• Hospital paying high costs to utilize PRNs to fill staffing gaps
The Approach:• Hospital examined overall base rate for Staff RNs. It appeared to be at market competitive levels. To better
understand the root of their turnover issue, they brought in Compdata Consulting.
• Compdata conducted a deep Staff RN competitive market analysis, looking at market landscape and actual base rates by segments of years of experience.
• The deeper analysis uncovered a significant gap between market rate and years of experience.
• Employees with the least experience and the most experience were being paid at market competitive levels. However, employees with a mid-range of experience were being paid significantly under market competitive levels. Upon further examination, this was the group with the highest turnover rate.
