Comparison of best mobile phones

Mobile phones were invented as electronic devices used for two-way mobile radio telecommunication.

But nowadays their useage is more complex.

Talking about best modern mobile phones and comparing them is in fact talking about devices called smartphones….

…. But what is smartphone??

Wikipedia tells us, that:

A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing

ability and connectivity than a contemporary basic feature phone.

Smartphones and feature phones may be thought of as handheld

computers integrated within a mobile telephone, but while most

feature phones are able to run applications based on platforms such as Java ME, a smartphone usually allows the user to install and run more advanced applications. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers. Like feature phones, a smartphone can be considered as a Personal Pocket Computer with mobile phone functions, because these devices are mainly computers, although much smaller than a desktop computer. Additionally a Personal Pocket Computer is more personal than a desktop computer.

Some numbers…. Growth in demand for advanced mobile devices boasting powerful processors, abundant memory, larger

screens, and open operating systems has outpaced the rest of the mobile phone market for several years.

According to a study by ComScore, over 45.5 million people in the United States owned smartphones in 2010 and it is the fastest growing segment of the mobile phone market, which comprised 234 million subscribers in the United States.

Despite the large increase in smartphone sales in the last few years, smartphone shipments only make up

20% of total handset shipments, as of the first half of 2010 Now we know more or less what smartphones (best mobile phones) are. Lets take a look at the most

interesting models available in 2010 ( only in my opinion of course)

+ doesn't look cheap, social networking integration, brilliant android 2, customisable options galore, useful app-sharing feature

- annoying haptic feedback, maybe the memory life, screen resolution is poor, needs charging most days, feels sluggish while browsing

+ new htc sense, android froyo, musical instrument, exercise tracker, com (when it works)

- occasional lag when multitasking, xl size, video calls not supported, not a girls phone, no samoled 2

Samsung • Samsung Galaxy S i9000

+ 4" amoled screen, brilliant super amoled, comfortable, ergonomic keyboard, simple text entry, smooth graphics performance

- no mobile hotspot app, uninspiried camera app, subscription-based gps/mapping application, still on android 2

+ swipe functionality, browsing web is ok, bbm and emailing, time-saving social feed app, business capabilities

- touchscreen isn't responsive, over sensitive standby key, sometimes when in messenger, heavy weight, bulky, inferior apps store

- keypad is small, some freezing, no camera zoom, 6 os feels outdated, timescape has limited uses

+ fast, responsive processor, 3” tft display, keyboard (swype, multitouch), mobile hotspot works great, pros: verizon wireless

- big phone, lack of froyo 2, large overall, lacks a front-facing camera, physical menu

LG • LG Ally

+ really nice keyboard, s not a blackberry, easy-touch qwerty keyboard, runs on android, camera has flash

- inadequate screen brightness, 99 data package, sometimes slow to update, need $29, call quality issues
