Meeting energy needs in emerging marketsEven s multintionl oil corportions pulish new record levels of ernings midst energy price voltility, plns for restructuring, cost reduction, productivity nd efficiency re eing nnounced in new wve to ddress declining production nd meet future demnd. In its 2007 nnul report the Interntionl Energy Agency (IEA) points to the need for significnt new levels of investment, mounting to hundreds of illions of dollrs nnully, to stem decline in oil production over the next two decdes. Most significntly, the IEA indictes tht the mjority of the incresed demnd in the future will come from emerging mrkets. There hs never een etter time for rejuvention nd growth for Indonesi’s leding energy producer.

Pertamina has a new role, new outlookProgress with economic deregultion hs significntly ltered the role nd sttus of Pertmin. We no longer crry the functions of industry regultor nd licensor. Pertmin hs ecome limited liility compny, operting on n equl footing with privte sector competitors in the oil nd gs industry. The new sttus rings new expecttions; of improved finncil nd operting performnce, nd greter trnsprency nd culturl chnge necessry to compete successfully in dynmic open environment. Not lest in tody’s medi driven society, is the need to mintin nd uild solid reputtion with pulic stkeholders nd the community t lrge.

Cilacap is our largest refinery, producing a wide range of fuels, non fuels and paraxylene products.

TransformationTo meet these chllenges the entire spectrum of Pertmin’s opertions is undergoing thorough trnsformtion: on fundmentl vlues nd usiness themes pplied cross upstrem directortes nd susidiries, cross explortion locks, 60 production fields nd significnt downstrem refining, mrketing nd trding network. Results of this trnsformtion re lredy ecoming more visile, nd key prt of this effort is Pertmin’s commitment to full trnsprency in reporting our finncil nd operting performnce, including our socil nd environmentl responsiilities.
