OceanicSteel’s objective has always been to consistently produce a high level of workmanship at

competitive rates to our customers in a safe and timely manner. In 2015 we added our partnership Company

Oceanic Labour Resources to meet customer demands for skilled labour.

We have demonstrated our fabrication, welding skills and knowledge to such a proficient

level that we are now recognised as an approved Steel Fabricators for Government Projects

and proud to display the Queensland Quality Assured Supplier emblem.

Our dedicated Staff has proven skills in administration and manufacture of unfired pressure vessels, water

infrastructure and all forms of steel and alloy fabricated products to Australian Standards such AS/NZS ISO

9001 – 2008; AS/NZS 4801; AS/NZS 1554.1; AS/NZS 1554.6; and AS/NZS 1665

TMR Approved Steel Fabricator OceanicSteel staff working as a team has achieved the requirements of an Approved Steel Fabricator for the

TMR Queensland Government. OceanicSteel has a current Certificate of Registration as an Approved

Fabricator (#52) of Minor Bridge Infrastructure Products.:

OceanicSteel’s Approval covers steel fabrication in all steel grades; Bridge Traffic Rail & Balustrade Rail;

panbrake press; punch & shear machine; vessel & pipe rotators; lathe; magnetic based drills; pulse and non-

pulse MIG and TIG welders, as well as abrasive blaster, compressors,

generators, industrial painting equipment and modular scaffolding.

The Plasma CNC Cutting Plant:

Has a 9m x 3.2m bed

Cuts 35mm steel & 28mm stainless steel plate

Cuts Bisalloy plate

Flame cuts steel 300mm.

Operates with CNC programs generated from DXF files.

QR Rail Bridge 2015/16 Project

Walkways / Platforms on Burnett River Queensland Rail Bridge

During the latter half of 2015 and the beginning of 2016, OceanicSteel partnered with Doval Constructions

in the fabrication and install of 700m + of walkways /handrails to serve as a safety work platform on the

Queensland Rail Burnett River Rail Bridge. Doval Constructions was Principal Contractor to QR and

OceanicSteel contractor to Doval Constructions. All work was undertaken by OceanicSteel staff under the

guidance of Engineering Staff of Doval Constructions from platform fabrication to assembly and install.

Fabrication and install was to AS/NZS 1554.1 SP; AS/NZS ISO-9001:2008 & AS/NZS 4801.

2015 Significant Project - 62.3 ton Low Profile Feeder

In December 2014 OceanicSteel, a fully Accredited and Certified Quality Assurance (AS/NZS ISO 9001-

2008) and Safety Systems (AS/NZS 4801) company, was chosen from a number of steel fabricators in

Central Queensland by Transmin of Western Australia to build & fabricate one of their top line products

namely a Low Profile Feeder (LPF) ™ from steel and steel alloys to Australian Standards. The project

commenced in mid-January 2015 and finalised early April 2015 safely on time and within budget.

The partnership to build this LPF was between Transmin and OceanicSteel. Transmin is a leader in

providing innovative, engineered solutions and services for the mining, processing and bulk materials

handling industries throughout Australia and internationally and OceanicSteel Pty Ltd is a State Government

Approved Supplier / Steel Fabricator.

The LPF is approx. 27m long x 3.45m wide and weighs around 62.3 tons and is transported to Site in one

piece. After fabrication of all parts the LPF was assembled, operationally tested and completed by

OceanicSteel staff and assisted by a Transmin Quality Engineer.

The LFP was welded / fabricated to AS/NZS 1554.1 SP & AS/NZS 1554.6



2015/16 Marine Project – Denso “Sea-Shield” application on Steel Piles

Using fully trained OceanicSteel staff (by Denso Applications) steel pile maintenance / encapsulation “Sea-

Shield” was undertaken for Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL). The steel piles were under the Bundaberg

Port sugar loading wharf and all work was undertaken in compliance with QSL and OceanicSteel QA &

Safety Systems.
