1879 Swissmetal in Lüdenscheid (Germany) (founded in 1879), taken over by lebronze alloys in 2012

1889 Hundt & Weber in Siegen (Germany), founded in 1889, taken over by lebronze alloys in 2013

1934 Rene LOISEAU founds Le Bronze Industriel, the first company in France to develop wrought copperstructural hardening alloys.

1945 Until 1939, the production was dedicated to the French National Navy, aviation and armaments. Aftter1945, Le Bronze Industriel significantly develops its production capabilities especially in the AutomotiveIndustry.

1961 In addition to both factories of Bobigny and Romainville, France, a new production site is created inSuippes (close to Reims), France, where more elaborated products such as drawn pipes for Marine andOffshore applications and machined parts are manufactured.

1963 Le Bronze Industriel Deutschland (BID), Germany, a subsidiary company with commercial focus iscreated. In the 80´s, BID covers 35 % of the electrodes market in Germany.

1992 Bobigny and Suippes , France, facilities are combined on the Suippes, France, site.

2004 A fully brand new factory of 20 000 m² is inaugurated. The same year, another major investment wascarried out in a new extrusion press of 5.400 metric tonnes.

2006 The Dumont´s family, some private investors as well as few key managers took the company over byfunds. This is the beginning of a new growth and strategic period for the group.

2011/13 External growth forms part of the strategy of Le Bronze Industriel with the acquisition of 10 additionalindustrial sites:

Casting in sand gives a great range of design possibilities. Versatile shapes, hollowsand so called undercuts are possible to produce. By applying the hand moulding technique lbag produces copper castings up to acasting weight of 10.000 kg. Using this process we are able to produce customerspecific products of any dimension with efficient precision.

Centrifugal casting

In the process of centrifugal casting the melted material is poured through a sprue into a rotating mould which is symmetrical in the axis of rotation. During this process the material is pressed against the inner wall of the mould where it freezes or solidifies. The structure of the metal is very dense and has got a fine grain size. Using this process, lbag obtains material free from cavities featuring excellent mechanical and technical properties.

Vertical casting – considerable dimensions

Symmetrical bodies such as sleeves, pipes and rings up to an internal diameter of 2.100 mm are casted with a constant high quality. Special alloys are developed by lbag in order to offer products with specific chemical and physical properties.

Lbag has made significant investments to continously enhence the machining capacity.Our experienced workers are utilised to use conventional and CNC machines to preparethe final finished parts according to the given dimensions. Material properties areoptimised by heat treatment. Various components are joined by using special weldingprocesses which are adapted to the particular materials.

specialist in the production of water cooled cooling components for use in the field of metallurgical furnace industry and the primary and secondary metallurgy industry. New and trendsetting concepts developed by the furnace engineering companies, but also from the refractory application require alternative solutions respective an optimization of the cooling elements with the cast-in coil system for the metallurgical furnace industry ensures a reduction of the operational costs and increases furnace availability.

The established casting systems can only partially fulfill these requirements of product innovation, as there is a lack of optimization determined per system, which must be considered. Hundt & Weber has encountered this demand and developed a new and trendsetting casting and handling system labeled TNC™ (patented system).Besides cast-in copper coil systems (Cu DHP EN 12449) coils also made of Monel400 are commonly used.
