We currently have six charitable programs in Corner Brook and surrounding areas. VON is a national organization with branches across Canada. VON was founded in 1897 at a National level and came to Corner Brook in 1952 when Bowater’s and the Corner Brook Lions Club saw a need for community nursing and sponsored VON to come to the community. Our main source of revenue is through a fee for service basis, but most people cannot afford the full fee so VON will subsidize the fee meaning, the client pays what he can and we cover the rest. One of our main sources of Revenue would be fundraising. We have to fundraising to assist with all charitable programs. Most programs are health-care based and the Adult Day Program volunteers will work with persons with disabilities and seniors.
