Introducing HENRY & Fit4Schools Two additional health programmes will be launched in November, HENRY and Fit4Schools. HENRY is aimed at babies and young children, to give them a healthy start in life and protect them from childhood obesity. HENRY offers a range of healthy workshops and activities to parents and families to enable them to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Fit4Schools offers a PHSE style curriculum to Key Stage 2 pupils, which includes 45 minutes of a health workshop, followed by 45 minutes of physical activity. Topics Thirty-nine young people aged between 12-16 years, completed the Summer Camp which included health workshops, sporting sessions and a two night residential at an activity centre. (cont. p2) covered will include food groups, food labels, fats and sugars, hydration, the importance of exercise and social health. Health

Summer Camp a success

This summer saw the introduction of the first ever Fit4it Summer Camp residential.

weightlossof1.3kg.Althoughthisisa

successfulresultfortheshort-term,we

willcontinuetoworkwiththegroup

overthenewtwelvemonthsandlook

forwardtobeingabletosupporttheir

progresslong-term.

Asarewardfortheireffortsandfor

completingtheFit4itSummerCamp,

thegroupwillbeinvitedtoaspecial

celebrationeveningforanaward

presentationattheTopoftheTerrace

loungeinCarrowRoad.

39 participantscompletedtheprogramme

74% ofthemreducedtheirwaistcircumference

85% ofparticipantslostormaintainedweight

otherswhotakepartintheprogramme.

LukeandRhiannonhavebeenaninspirationtoothersontheFit4itSummerCampprogrammeandwelookforwardtoworkingwiththemoverthenexttwelvemonths.

foilandmistwithcookingspray.Prickeachsweetpotatoseveral

timeswithaforkandbakefor50minutes.

2.Meanwhile,inapansprayedwitholiveoilonalowheat,add

theonionandcookfor3to4minutes,untilsoftened.Addgarlic

andcookfor1minutemore,untilfragrant.Addtomato,black

beans,sweetcorn,cuminandchilepowder.Increaseheatto

mediumandcook,stirringoccasionally,for5moreminutes.

3.Sliceeachsweetpotatoinhalflengthwise.Scoopoutflesh,

leavinga1/4-inchshell.Keepthefleshinaseparatebowland

placethepotatoesskinssideuponafoil-linedbakingsheet.

Mistwithcookingsprayandplacebackintheovenuntilcrisp

andgolden.

4.Removethepotatoesfromovenandfilleachpotatoskinwith

thebeanmixtureandsomeofthepotatoflesh.Topwithcheese

andreturntotheovenforanother4to5minutesuntilhotand

bubbly.Removefromoven.Topeachwithsourcreamandserve

warm.
