Community Partnership for Attainment -Cohort #3

Webinar 1: Highlights and Key Information

Haley Glover, Strategy Director, Lumina FoundationJeanna Keller Berdel, Senior Strategy Officer, Lumina Foundation

Goal 2025:

To increase the proportion of Americans with high-quality degrees and credentials to 60 percent by the year 2025.

What do we mean by…Partnership HealthThe community is working collaboratively to achieve common goals, using agreed-upon accountability tools and measures, and utilizing data to make decisions about program direction and design

EquityCommunities explicitly identify and develop action plans to address chronic attainment gaps between racial/ethnic groups

AttainmentCommunities build support for and action plans around targeted populations and issues with the principle:Access + Success = Attainment

Why Equity Matters

Fourteen states represent 46 percent

of the total U.S. population. Those

states have a population age five and under that is

majority non-white.

By 2025, half of the nation’s workers, or more than 50 million, will be of Latino descent.

Lumina’s Equity ImperativePostsecondary Degree Attainment

Lumina recognizes that, to make effective change in higher education, equity and excellence must be at the center of all its efforts to reach Goal 2025.
