ISSUESEconomic Development:• Too few destinations – retail, eating places• Undeveloped potential for JEDD

development: large amount of space that could attract high quality development such as the Cleveland Clinic

• Need to maximize/market highway access along Stearns Road

• What does it take to attract businesses in terms of traffic counts and population?

Neighborhoods:• Over 1,375 acres of

vacant residential land = 1,500 to 3,300 more units

• Too few destinations – parks

• Seniors need nearby conveniences

and Open Space:• Too few parks• Township land is currently

not suited for recreational use: Poor drainage Land is underneath high

tension wires• What is the potential for

Metropark extension?

ISSUESInfrastructure/Utilities:• Some areas still without water and

sewer lines

• Poor quality of well water - black

• Lack of sidewalks in some areas create unsafe walking conditions

• Township unable to provide needed infrastructure without assistance from the State and/or County

areas of the township

• Concerns about fracking, oil and gas well development

• New development has eliminated trees

• Utility easements provide natural corridor opportunities

ISSUESIdentity/Image:• Some residents don’t realize

they live in the Township and miss certain advantages (such as BMV fees)

• Need to develop a sense of who we are

Promotes economic development for appropriate balance land uses

Manages growth to minimize negative impacts

Maintains/preserves open character, wooded areas and green space.

Creates a “town center” to promote an identifiable community identity.

Has sewer and water system for entire Township.

Promotes environmentally sustainable land use, transportation and construction practices.

Enables a more active and healthy lifestyle with access to community gardens, parks and trails.
