MAIN GALLERY trenton doyle hancock: skin and bones, 20 years of drawing Trenton Doyle Hancock: Skin and Bones, 20 Years of Drawing chronicles the evolution of Hancock’s prolific career. The exhibition is the first in-depth examination of the artist’s extensive body of drawings, collages and works on paper. For over two decades, Hancock has immersed himself in drawing, testing the elasticity of the medium with a keen sense of humor. Hancock was born in 1974 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He lives and works in Houston, Texas and is represented by the James Cohan Gallery in New York.

Trenton Doyle Hancock: Skin and Bones, 20 Years of Drawing is organized by the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston and is supported by a generous grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and other supporters of CAMH.

andrea dezsö: dreamtime Award-winning artist, Andrea Dezsö works with a broad range of media, creating intricate, detailed realms that hold her own stories, interests and ideas. MOCA will present a selection of her tunnel books, as well as a large scale installation, a giant tunnel book and diorama. Through these we will peek into her worlds where things like craft traditions, folk tales, and interests in space or entomology meet. Dezsö exhibits in museums and

ARTlabExplore the unique processes of each exhibiting artist in ARTlab. Trace the history of drawing with a 3D timeline, collaborate on a fiber installation, discover the layers of a tunnel book, and more!

conversations & audio toursDrop-in for an informal one-hour discussion about our current exhibitions. 1pm the First Friday and Saturday of the month and 6:30pm the third Tuesday. You can also check out an iPod at the museum welcome desk, or listen on your personal device, to enjoy a unique audio tour! PRICE AUDITORIUM2015 disposable film festivalSelected by MovieMaker Magazine as one the country’s “coolest film festivals,” the Disposable Film Festival (DFF) was created in 2007 to celebrate the artistic potential of disposable video—short films made on non-professional devices such as cell phones, point and shoot cameras, webcams, and other lo-fi, readily available video capture devices.

Loops daily during museum hours. Screenings are free with admission.

COMMUNITY GALLERYheather bryant: grasp Norfolk-based artist Heather Bryant exhibits a new direction for her work in this exhibition. A former Old Dominion University professor, Bryant is known for her stark, engaging lithographs. In her new work, color takes center stage. Flecked watercolors, deep and intense, suggest a connection with the cosmos. Figures with faces like masks embrace, fight, struggle, and grasp.

galleries around the world. She has created permanent public art installations for the New York City subway system and the US Embassy in Bucharest, Romania historical sites, museums, and schools for more than twenty years.

Dezsö is represented by the Nancy Margolis Gallery in New York and Pucker Gallery in Boston.

amanda mccavour: inside/outToronto-based artist Amanda McCavour documents the world around her by drawing with thread. She suspends thread drawings of domestic objects and organic forms from the ceiling. The resulting installation is light yet feels solid, evoking both the ethereal and profound nature of memory. Two of McCavour’s imaginative installations will transform MOCA’s galleries, inviting visitors to recall their own memories of home, place and time. McCavour holds a BFA in Visual Arts Studio from York University in Toronto, ON and an MFA in Fibers and Material Studies from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, and has received numerous grants and awards.

The Holiday Craft Sale transforms MOCA into a marketplace where more than 30 local and regional artists feature their unique and affordable artwork, accessories, and jewelry. Enjoy hot chocolate, a spirited adult beverage or fresh, local fare from one of the food trucks. Create festive winter-themed origami at Family Fest from 2-5pm or have a wintry photo taken by a professional photographer that you can use for all of your holiday greetings! MOCA is proud to work with and support local food vendors, artists, and crafters.
