Sustainable Jersey Certification
SUSTAINABLE JERSEY ™ is a certification program for municipalities in New Jersey that want to go green, save money, and take steps to sustain their quality of life over the long term.
Under the “Trees and Woodlands Management” action you could gain a possible 60 points towards your certification.

It is a great idea to include a Goals and Objectives checklist for each year of the plan in a timeline format

Submission and Approval Procedures
Submit two hard copies and one electronic copy of your plan to the NJ Urban & Community Forestry Program
Plan is reviewed by the State and the NJ Community Forestry Council

Plan Approval
Plan is approved for 5-years BEGINNING with the year that it is Approved.
So if a plan is Approved anytime in 2018, it will expire December 31, 2022. A subsequent plan should be submitted for and approved prior to December 31, 2022.
