How do you lose weight?

Loss.

Simple, right? Not so much.

Just ask the 2010 Biggest Loser

Weight Loss Challenge Winner

Jeanette Porter.

Jeanette lost 6 pounds in 8

weeks. She has a real-life story

to tell that is very common

among many in our commu-

nity. It all started with

Jeanette’s health. Ms. Porter

recently found out she has high

blood pressure. She was put

on two medications immedi-

ately for fear of complications

uncontrolled high blood pres-

sure can inflict on the body.

Since Jeanette lost weight she

reports she “has more energy,

feels less tired.” Jeanette’s

medication has been reduced

to one type of medication

instead of two. When asked

how did she do it, Ms. Porter

says, “I did it all by walking

more, cutting down on the

fats, eating more fruit and

vegetables, and sticking to a

low salt diet.”

Pets need to be taken care of.

They depend on humans to help

Being responsible for a pet

vaccinations and love even

HERO Club Activities

For the economically minded,

the telephone can be one of

the greatest time and money

saving tools around. But if

you’re not careful, pressure

from sweet-talking salespeople

to add multiple services to your

calling plan can double or

even triple your basic monthly

phone bill. Having a standard

home phone service as well as

Internet access and cellular

phones can mean that

“reaching out to touch some-

one” could cost you plenty.

Getting to the bottom line on

phone service costs can be a

consuming task. Some phone

service expenses exceed $150

per month for a household. If a

family’s budget is balanced

and include regular deposits in

savings, the expenditure can

be agreeable. But folks who

tread water financially or need

to free up cash to reach other

goals should hand up some of

these services.

What you can do about your

phone services:

Pull out your phone bills for

the past 6 months and

figure out your average

monthly costs. Pick three

simple changes you can

make to save money. Cut

some of those services!

For long distance, use a

phone card or free week-

end cell phone

Memo

To: You

From The Boss

Date: Today

Subject: Life

If life happens to deliver a situation to

you that you cannot handle, do not

attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in

the SFGTD (something for God to do)

box. All situations will be resolved, but

in His time, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the

box, do not hold onto it by worrying

about it. Instead, focus on all the

wonderful things that are present in

your life now.
