Community and Schools Coming Together
- be a part of the experience
Assessment Requirements
NCLB requires Illinois to ensure that 100% of students meet or exceed the Illinois learning standards in at least reading/language arts and mathematics by the end of 2013-2014.
Schools must make adequate yearly progress (AYP) toward that goal.
Determination of AYP95% participation by all subgroups (45 as N size)
and composite, per school, per district
AndMeeting another academic indicator
◦High schools: graduation rate threshold◦Elementary and middle schools: attendance
rate threshold
AndMaking academic achievement goals ( 77% in
2010, and 85% in 2011)
Graduation and Attendance Rates
In 2010, high schools need to have a 80% graduation rate.
The required graduation rate would gradually increase to the ultimate target of 85% by 2014.
Elementary and middle schools need an attendance rate of 91% in 2010.
The required attendance rate would gradually increase to the ultimate target of 92% by 2014.
