THANK YOU ALL SPONSORS
In the welcome speech by Mr Thomas Sim – First Deputy Chairman of SLA and Director of TLA, he that TLA had successfully aligned the TLA Diploma programmes to the WSQ Logistics Framework. Under WDA’s revised criteria for “Certifiable Skills Training”, a total of 24 participants qualified for Category B enhanced funding through the inaugural Assessment-Only-Pathway (AOP) in May and September this year. The AOP incorporates a hybrid of written and case-based elements to assess for competency–based performance. This complements and provides evidence of TLA graduates’ competency in their respective diploma program of study. He also highlighted a few new course titles launched under the Continuous Learning Programme (CLP) to meet the increasing demand to acquire specialized domain knowledge in a shorter duration. These new course titles include Specialist Certificate in Chemical Logistics Management (3 Days), Specialist Certificate in Effective Purchasing Management (3 Days) and Workshop on Project Forwarding (1 Day).
On the sole credit of TLA Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Mr Sim was pleased to announce that UniSIM has waived the 5 GCE “O” Level credits for direct admission into its Bachelor of Science in Logistics & Supply Chain Management degree programme. He rounded off by declaring that TLA is committed to its mission as a training provider and giving its learners a pleasant experiential journey.
As another channel to enhance outreach and engagements with our learners, TLA launched its identifiable community homepage TLA.EDU.SG during the ceremony.
Amidst applause, a total of 4 top diploma graduates were presented the Best Achiever awards. SLA Scholar Mr Ong Hui Si from KC Dat (Singapore) Pte Ltd also shared his 4 years learning journey pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Logistics & Supply Chain Management in UniSIM to inspire TLA graduates in their academic pursuits.

I am glad that I have attended my Diploma and Advanced
Diploma courses with TLA. Through the courses, I have
better understanding on how forwarders and 3PLs operate.
This helps me in carrying out my job more smoothly. I am
able to pre-empt the possible problems that I may face for
each shipment and work together with the service providers
to minimize disruptions to the shipments.Yap Hui Peng Advanced Diploma in SCM

I would like to say thank you TLA. Thanks for taking us
here today. It has never been easy for us … rushing from
our work place to attend class after work especially
when we need to meet for project discussion and making
preparations for the examinations. Graduation is not an
end goal in itself, it is instead a part of the lifelong journey.
With strong determination, I believe that we can achieve
more in our future study and work life.

importance of teamwork, patience and sacrifice.
I am extremely grateful to the support given by family
and I am very thankful to SLA and my company for giving
me this wonderful opportunity to take on and complete
this course.
Changes often start with one self. It is always easier to
begin changing, upgrading and improving on our own for
the better, rather than requesting others to change us.

Words from the SLA Scholars …My family and colleagues have been very supportive throughout my study. My friends often share their course notes and materials with me. Frequent warm exhortations from SLA manager and my boss had encouraged me all along the way. Their care and concern never failed to brighten my day. My study journey won’t be easy without them and I am deeply grateful to them.
Lastly, my perseverance finally bears fruit. However, this is not the end. Instead, it is just a starting point for another chapter of my life.
