On Wednesday, March 25, 2015, FP2020 will launch its new knowledge platform, designed to connect people, ideas and evidence to inspire, inform and accelerate progress for family planning.
SECTION 2: Resource Kit Launch
The CIP Resource Kit aims to strengthen government investments in family planning, providing tools and guidance to develop and execute
multi-year family planning costed implementation plans. On Wednesday, March 25, we request our partners to support FP2020 by using this toolkit, which features key messages, sample social media posts and visual assets.

The FP2020 partnership is a different way of working together: a creative network of cooperation that revolves around a hub to promote information, knowledge-sharing, transparency and emergent thinking.
The new knowledge platform is designed to connect people, ideas and evidence to inspire, inform and accelerate progress for family planning.
The new knowledge platform is a great resource for governments, civil society, multi-lateral organizations, donors, the private sector, and the research and development community.
The media can also leverage the platform to access the latest information, data and connect to experts on family planning.
The platform is a place where users can discover, learn, share and connect on all issues related to family planning.
It enables knowledge-sharing by matching relevant news, information and official progress updates with specific thematic areas, conversations and people to help drive progress at the global and country-level.
It provides a space for diverse voices to engage in the process of accountability and collective problem solving through a central digital hub.

Countries have made important commitments and set ambitious family planning goals to improve the health and lives of women, their families and communities. Costed Implementation Plans (CIPs) are the multi-year actionable roadmaps critical for helping governments transform ambitious goals and commitments—such as those made through Family Planning 2020 and the Ouagadougou Partnership—into concrete programs and policies.
The CIP Resource Kit provides governments and family planning country teams with the tools and guidance needed to develop and execute a comprehensive, action-oriented and resourced FP strategy that helps countries move from policy to action and unmet need to fulfilled right.

The CIP process helps countries prioritize appropriate interventions, allocate limited resources, unify stakeholders around one plan and build the case for increased support. The 10-step process guides countries through planning, developing and executing a plan as well as continually engaging stakeholders, advocating effectively, and keeping rights at the center of all activities. A comprehensive CIP can address and budget for all components of a family planning program: demand creation; service delivery and access; contraceptive security; policy and enabling environment; financing; and stewardship, management and accountability. By engaging in this transformative process, governments can:
Regardless of where a government is in relation to its family planning strategy—starting development, revisiting and refining focus or addressing specific gaps—the CIP Resource Kit can be used to accelerate progress on achieving family planning goals. Resources and tools should be utilized if they fit a country’s specific needs and context, as not all countries will need to move through each step or use every resource.
The CIP Resource Kit was developed to provide program planners, ministry representatives (health, finance, planning) and technical assistance providers with guidance and tools to effectively negotiate the CIP process. The Resource Kit’s tools are developed from the hands-on experience of governments, donors and technical assistance providers who collectively have developed more than 15 CIPs.

We are pleased to announce that the Costed Implementation Plan Resource Kit is now available on the Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) Knowledge Platform!
Costed Implementation Plans (CIPs) are the multi-year actionable roadmaps critical for helping governments transform ambitious goals and commitments—such as those made through FP2020 and the Ouagadougou Partnership—into concrete programs and policies. The CIP Resource Kit provides governments and family planning country teams the tools and guidance needed to develop and execute a comprehensive, action-oriented and resourced FP strategy that helps countries move from policy to action. FP2020 spearheaded the development of the Resource Kit, in collaboration with the Health Policy Project and the Knowledge for Health Project—who developed new tools for the Resource Kit and curated existing relevant resources. The tools in the Resource Kit were developed from the hands-on experience of governments, donors and technical assistance providers who collectively have developed more than 15 CIPs.
