IEEE 2030-2011 Std. Guide for Smart Grid Interoperability of Energy Technology and Information Technology Operation with the Electric Power System (EPS), End-Use Applications, and Loads.
• This guide considers three high-level perspectives from an architectural viewpoint:
IEEE 2030-2011 Standard
Communications technology interoperability (CT-IAP)

IEEE 2030.2-2015 Std. Guide for the Interoperability of Energy Storage Systems Integrated with the Electric Power Infrastructure
• Provides guidelines for energy storage discrete or
hybrid systems (ESS) that are integrated with the
electric power infrastructure, including end-use
applications and loads.
• This guide also presents a methodology that can be
used for most common ESS projects to describe the
power system, communications, and information
technology (IT) interoperability architecture
perspectives (IAPs).
• Provides the templates that can be used to develop
requirements for an ESS project.
• This guide builds upon IEEE Std 2030-2011.

Communications Technologies
Next generation technologies: 5G (1 Gbps-10 Gbps, 1 ms end-to-end round-trip delay, etc.)
IoT Communications Protocols and Standards (Wi-Fi, ZigBee,
Z-Wave, Bluetooth Smart, HomePlug, LoRa).
