7 Habits Discussion

Questions

7 Habits Infused With Common Core

Unit 1- SRA

“Rugby and Rosie”

Q: How did the boy think win-win when Rosie had to leave?

A: The boy thought win-win in this situation because, even thou it would be hard to see her go, he

would get to be proud of her, and Rosie would get to help a blind person.

Q: What would make this situation a win-lose?

A: In this situation, a win-lose, would be if the boy kept Rosie for himself. He would be happy, but Rosie

would not get to help a blind person.

“The Legend of Damon and Pythias”

Q: Did Pythias begin with the end in mind when he declared that the Kings’ laws were cruel? Use

evidence from the text to support your answer.

A: Some students could say that Pythias did “Begin with the End in Mind” because he spoke out against

the law to make things better for all the people. He knew there would be consequences for him, but

making changes against the cruel laws the King he had was his ultimate end in mind.

They could argue that he didn’t “Begin with the End in Mind” because the ultimate end would be Pythias

going to jail and dying.

“Good-bye 382 Shin Dang Dong”

Q: What is an event in the story that was part of Jangmi’s outer-circle? (Things she couldn’t control.)

A: She couldn’t control that she had to move to America and leave her home and friends.

Q: What was part of her inner-circle? (Those are the things that she could control.)
