LTE – Targets High data rates

– Downlink: >100 Mbps – Uplink: >50 Mbps – Cell-edge data rates 2-3 x HSPA Rel. 6 (@ 2006)

Low delay/latency – User plane RTT: < 10 ms RAN RTT (fewer nodes, shorter TTI) – Channel set-up: < 100 ms idle-to-active (fewer nodes, shorter messages, quicker node resp.)

High spectral efficiency – Targeting 3 X HSPA Rel. 6 (@ 2006 )

Spectrum flexibility – Operation in a wide-range of spectrum allocations, new and existing – Wide range of Bandwidth: 1.4, 3, 5, 10, 15 and 20 MHz, FDD and TDD

Simplicity – Less signaling, Auto Configuration e-NodeB – ”PnP”, ”Simple as an Apple” Cost-effective migration from current/future 3G systems State-of-the-art towards 4G Focus on services from the packet-switched domain

Element Manager requirements

– Web browser (Netscape, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox)

– CPP Nodes operating on L10 level software require a Element Manager running on JRE version 1.5.0_12 or later, see http://java.sun.com/products/archive

– Windows Vista, English Version, Windows 2000, Service Pack 2, English Version or Windows XP, English Version

– Local Administrative rights – Ethernet connection for 10/100 BaseT – FTP Client for functions such as retrieving Product

Inventory log files, Uploading basic software to a node or retrieving the dump from the flash disk of the node. Some examples of FTP Clients are FileZilla, FTPPro.

– Any kind of Network Time Protocol, NTP, client.

Java Run Time Environment (JRE)

There is a need to install a local Java Run Time environment (JRE) on the PC.

The following versions are supported

– JRE 1.5.0_12 or later

JRE are available on http://java.sun.com/products/archive

JRE 1.5 is also called JRE 5.0 and is included in the JDK 5.0 and J2SE 5.0 packages.

When reconnecting the client to an

RBS that is already configured with

an individual IP address, than that

individual RBS O&M IP address

must be specified instead.
