Preparation:

•Allfibrecementsheets,compressedfibrecement,plasterboardstructuralparticleboardandplywoodmustcomplywiththerelevantbuildingcodeandbefixedinaccordancewiththemanufacturersinstructions.

•Allsurfacesmustbeclean,dry,freeofexcessivemovement,oil,dustgrease,curingcompounds,paintandanyotherlooseorcontaminatingmaterials.

•Thesurfacemustbesmoothwithnoprotrusionsormajorirregularities.

•Allscrewsandnailheadsmustbesealedwithepoxyorasuitablesealant,(donotuseacidcuredsiliconesorwaterbasedproducts).

•HairlinecracksmaybefilledwiththefirstcoatofCommercialWPM.Cracksupto2mmandcontroljointsshouldbefilledwithasuitablesealantlikeneutralcuresiliconeorP/Uconstructionsealantandthenbetapedusinga50mmwide,fabricreinforcedducttape.Internalsheetjointsshouldalsobetreatedinthesameway.

•Forinteriorconcrete,render,uncoatedF/Csheetandotherinteriorabsorbentsubstrates,useRLAUniversalprimerasaprimerbeforeusingCommercialWPM.

•Allowtodryforabout15-30minutes.

•ForexteriorconcreteorforcoatedwaterprooftypeexternalorinternalF/CsheetuseonecoatofDryflexMoistureBarrierwaterbasedepoxyastheprimer.

• Iftheconcretecontainsmoistureuse2coatsofDryflexMoistureBarrier(seeDryflexMoistureBarrierDataSheet)toformanhydrostaticmembrane.

•Allowtodryforatleast16hoursat25°CbeforeapplyingCommercialWPM.

Preparation: (continued)•Atwallfloorjunctions,applyneutralsiliconeorpolyurethanesealant(donotuseacidcuredsiliconeorwaterbasedsealants)toformaradiusedfilletofatleast25mmdiametercreatingabondbreakerofatleast15mm.

•Allowthesealantto“surfacedry’’beforeapplyingmembrane.

•Onexternalconcreteallparrapets,jointsandpenetrationsshouldbedetailedasdescribedinAS4654.2:2012-ExternalWaterproofing.

•Onexternalsheeting,consultthemanufacturersrecommendationsforanyspecialinstructionsregardingprimingandjointing,otherwiseprepareinaccordancewithAS4654.

Application:

•CommercialWPMshouldbeappliedinaccordancewithAS3740:2010forinternalapplicationsandinaccordancewithAS4654.2:2009forexternalapplications.

•Afterpreparingthesubstrateasabove,useapaintbrush,rollerorairlessspraysystemtoapply2or3heavycoatsallowingtheproducttocompletelydrybetweencoats.

•Thecoatingshouldformaseamlessfilmthatcomesdownthewall,acrossthefloorandintothewaste.Inspecteachcoatforpinholes,bubblesordefectsandrepaironnextcoat.

•Onflatbalconies,membraneshouldextendovertheedgeandaroundtothedripmould.

•Dryfilmthicknessforundertileapplicationsshouldbeabout1.00mmafter2coats.Foruseasatrafficablemembrane,filmthicknessshouldbe1.5mmafter3coats.

•Protectthemembranefromwater,badweatheranddamageuntilitisfullycured.Donottileorlayscreedovermembraneuntilitisfullycured.

• Ifwatersealtestingisrequiredformorethan1hour,allowmembranetore-dryforanextradayafterdraining.
