• The NASA Recovery Act stimulus funding,included $50M to stimulate efforts within theprivate sector to develop and demonstratetechnologies that enable commercial humanspaceflight capabilities

• On February 1, 2010 five partners wereannounced and received funding:– Blue Origin– Boeing– Paragon– Sierra Nevada Corporation– United Launch Alliance (ULA)

• All Agreements were concluded by December2010, with the exception of ULA and Boeing whoreceived no-cost extensions to April 2011

System Description: Commercial crewtransportation system comprises thereusable CST-100 spacecraft, launchservices, and ground systems. CST-100 iscompatible with multiple launch vehiclesand is reusable for up to ten missions.

System Description: DreamChaser is a reusable, pilotedlifting body, derived from NASAHL-20 launched on an Atlas V.

CCDev2 Content: Mature DreamChaser design through aPreliminary Design Review withsome subsystems to CriticalDesign Review, and conductsignificant hardware testing.

System Description: The crewtransportation system is based on theexisting Falcon 9 launch vehicle andDragon spacecraft which have beendesigned since inception for crewcarriage with relatively minimalmodification. Both the longest-lead andmost safety-critical system is the LaunchAbort System.

CCDev2 Content: Mature the flight-proven Falcon 9 / Dragontransportation system focusing ondeveloping an integrated, side-mounted Launch abort System.
