The Cumbee Center celebrated the opening of its new retail shop, Cumbee Center Bargain Bin, located at 1011 Richland Avenue W, with a ribbon cutting on March 11.
Dunkin Donuts owners, Charlie and Kitsie Hartz, celebrated the opening of their first Aiken location at 3526 Richland Avenue W, with a ribbon cutting on March 19.
Members of the Cham-ber’s Young Professionals are sure to gain valuable tips on nutrition and exercise at the group’s first “Lunch & Learn” next week.
Dr. Brian B. Parr, assistant professor in the Department of Exercise and Sports Science at USCA, will share with the 22- to 39-year olds how to start an exercise program to get in shape for summer and beyond. He’ll also speak on the value of starting a healthful lifestyle now through proper nutrition and appropriate exercise for lifelong health and wellness.
The “Lunch & Learn,”
sponsored by Woodside Coun-try Club, will be held Thurs-day, April 2, noon to 1 p.m. at Woodside. The event is open to members of the Aiken Chamber Young Professionals.
The cost is $10 per person.Dr. Parr teaches courses in
exercise physiology, nutri-tion, physical activity, obesity, and health at USCA. He also conducts research focusing on weight loss and physical activity. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and is certified as a Clinical Exercise Specialist.
