S. Diggs & T. Boyer
Insights and overview
•Contact with CTD PIs is only the first step
•Building trust with PIs (and nations) is crucial
•Reformatting data: It’s easy, fun and profitable!
•What would we do if we could get ALL data?
•There are now more “customers” interested in comparing ship-based CTD and Argo data

Sea Level Rise:Argo Needs Southern Ocean Data
Requested SOOS Actions:
1. Please identify all IPY and recent cruises, and if possible, get all basic hydrographic metadata (and data) to CCHDO
1. Argo sensor calibration in the Southern Ocean is in dire need of protected, early release CTD data for delayed mode quality control.
1. Data will be proprietary unless written release permission is given by PI
1. SO hydrographic cruise plans, by country, for the next 2-5 years would be invaluable for the global/hydro cruise planning data site.

musings of a few idiot leftist scientists is just

•Reformatting data: It’s easy, fun and profitable? No.
•What would we do if we could get ALL data?(Do we have the resources to deal with it - maybe)
•There are now more “customers” interested in comparing ship-based CTD and Argo data
