My first job as a CPA was an external auditor under an auditing firm based here in Davao City. My parents at that time would have wanted me to work in companies of their choice like banks and that pays big time. On my part, I chose a different path and that is auditing practice since I want to know what audit is all about. It was as though I will miss half of my professional life if I won't have any audit experience. My life as an auditor back then was indeed very challenging, strenuous physically and emotionally, risky and all that since most of our clients are schools and hospitals located in the remote areas of the northern part of Mindanao. At times, I also felt fear during fieldwork because I am not used to being far away from home. However, my experiences and learnings during our fieldwork have outweighed my apprehensions. I can say that I've become braver. Indeed, experience is priceless. My current job is different from audit in the sense that I can control my time more Although accounting work is more routinary compared to audit, but the volume of transaction is also considerable. I am a person who really values my profession that I want to take it to a higher level that's why I wanted to undertake the Graduate School Program. I am also a person who values teamwork but is also able to work independently. My goals are to finish my MBA course and apply what I've learned to my profession be it in my current position in the corporate office or in my future plans in public service. I enrolled in MBA not just to earn units but basically to refresh and learn more since my profession requires me to be constantly up-to-date with the current trends/issues in business that may affect my decisions, views, strategies or procedures in the workplace. I have also plans of pursuing a future career in teaching and maybe I'll teach accounting subjects. My greatest strength is that I don't easily give up during difficult times. For example, when I get low grades or when my boss is not satisfied with my report, I see them as a challenge and an opportunity for improvement. Moreover, when I feel that my activities get so messed up, I find time to organize them and sort out my priorities. For example, I should ensure that I can put a balance between my work and my graduate studies. By following a proper schedule of my activities, I should be able to perform my work well without sacrificing my graduate studies. I am not at ease if I have work left undone that's why I prefer to prepare ahead of time. I don't rely on sheer dumb luck in my quest for success that's why I make preparations. Most importantly, I hate to give up because I believe that “Success comes in cans and failure comes in can'ts.” Even if there are many stumbling blocks along my way, I know they will become stepping stones for me to succeed.

I am an experienced Certified Public Accountant both in the field of audit andaccounting. My first job as a CPA was an external auditor under an auditing firm based here inDavao City. My parents at that time would have wanted me to work in companies of theirchoice like banks and that pays big time. On my part, I chose a different path and that isauditing practice since I want to know what audit is all about. It was as though I will miss halfof my professional life if I won't have any audit experience. My life as an auditor back thenwas indeed very challenging, strenuous physically and emotionally, risky and all that sincemost of our clients are schools and hospitals located in the remote areas of the northern partof Mindanao. At times, I also felt fear during fieldwork because I am not used to being faraway from home. However, my experiences and learnings during our fieldwork haveoutweighed my apprehensions. I can say that I've become braver. Indeed, experience ispriceless.

My current job is different from audit in the sense that I can control my time moreAlthough accounting work is more routinary compared to audit, but the volume of transactionis also considerable. And my supervisory position entails , I have I am a diligent, committedand goal-oriented career woman. I am a person who really values my profession that I want totake it to a higher level that's why I wanted to undertake the Graduate School Program. I amalso a person who values teamwork but is also able to work independently.

My goals are to finish my MBA course and apply what I've learned to myprofession be it in my current position in the corporate office or in my future plans in publicservice. I enrolled in MBA not just to earn units but basically to refresh and learn more sincemy profession requires me to be constantly up-to-date with the current trends/issues inbusiness that may affect my decisions, views, strategies or procedures in the workplace. Ihave also plans of pursuing a future career in teaching and maybe I'll teach accountingsubjects.

My greatest strength is that I don't easily give up during difficult times. Forexample, when I get low grades or when my boss is not satisfied with my report, I see themas a challenge and an opportunity for improvement. Moreover, when I feel that my activitiesget so messed up, I find time to organize them and sort out my priorities. For example, Ishould ensure that I can put a balance between my work and my graduate studies. Byfollowing a proper schedule of my activities, I should be able to perform my work well withoutsacrificing my graduate studies.

I am not at ease if I have work left undone that's why I prefer to prepare aheadof time. I don't rely on sheer dumb luck in my quest for success that's why I makepreparations. Most importantly, I hate to give up because I believe that “Success comes incans and failure comes in can'ts.” Even if there are many stumbling blocks along my way, Iknow they will become stepping stones for me to succeed.

The weaker side of me is that I am quite shy when it comes to talking in front ofa crowd. I get conscious and nervous. But I've been trying to overcome this and I believe thatthis class will be a good venue to practice and hone my skills in talking in front of peopleespecially when presenting a report or a defense paper. And when I eventually enter theteaching profession, I will be prepared.
