FACTS:

Petitioners in this case are the legitimate heirs of deceased Loreto. The petitioners

were not named as beneciaries in the insurance policies issued by nsular and!repalife. Petitioners claim that "#a$ the concubine of Loreto and a suspect in hismurder$ is dis%ualied from being designated of the insurance policies. They furtheradd that "#a&s children with Loreto$ being illegitimate children$ are entitled to alesser share of the proceeds of the policies. Thus$ they prayed that the share of "#aand portions of the share of Loreto&s illegitimate children should be awarded tothem$ being the legitimateheirs of Loreto entitled to their respecti#e legitimes.

+o. The insurance contracts are go#erned by specials laws. Petitioners arethird parties to the insurance contracts with nsular and !repalife and thus they arenot entitled to the proceeds thereof. The nsular and !repalife ha#e no legalobligation to turn o#er the insurance proceeds to the petitioner. t is only in caseswhere the insured has not designated any beneciary$ or when the designatedbeneciary is dis%ualied by law to recei#e the proceeds$ that the insurance policyproceeds shall redound to the benetof the estate of the insured.
