Conformity elaborate for OPC 42.5N to the requirements of CEM I42.5N

Prepared by:Eng. Ratkovic Predrag LCC, Quality manager, LCC, August 2013

    Introduction

This elaborate presents model for conformity valuation of cement type OPC 42.5 (Ordinary Portland Cement according toLibyan Standard Specification LSS 340/2009) to quality demand for CEM I 42.5N (Portland Cement according toEuropean norm EN 197-1).

Conformity evaluation model is presented in the table below. This model has 5 steps and is based on the continualsampling using spot samples and test results obtained on all auto control samples taken during the control period.Practically, it has three criteria based on characteristic values given as General criteria.

Conformity of cement with the requirements for mechanical, physical and chemical properties in EN 197-1 is assumed ifthe conformity of all three criteria are met. Cement period for assessment is 12 months with at least 1 sample per week for

    continual production of same type.

Step 4. Conformity criteria for cement composition

OPC I 42.5N cement is cement made of 100% Clinker and 0% additives with addition of Gypsum assetting time regulator. Therefore Cement composition criteria is fill full.

Step 5, Final Conclusion on conformity assessment

If the criteria 1 and 2 in step 3 are met considering that criteria 3 in step 4 is already met, then cementtype OPC I 42.5N has pass conformity assessment for quality CEM I 42.5N according to norm EN 197-1.
