The invention of Le Mans 24 Hours race

• 24 hours of Le Mans is a race car for a period of 24 hours, which is held in June on a track.

Established in May 1923, The endurance race in the world's most famous vehicle with 12 cars on the track.

The track

• The track measuring 13.629 km track, the prototypes have a top speed around 400 km / h in a minute.

The record for the highest average speed over a lap with a time of 3 min 19 s from 0 to 246.463 km / h average.

Football World Cup 1998

• The Football World Cup of 1998 is the sixteenth edition of the Football World Cup and takes place in France from June 10th till July 12th, 1998. It is the second time when France organizes the world cup after 1938.

• For the first time the history, the French team gains the world cup against Brésil.

• The captain of the French team Didier Deschamps becomes the first player French to lift the World cup.

3 – Judo…

David Douillet

Born on February 17th, 1969 in Rouen. He is one of the most successful French

judokas .

His Life

• David Douillet was in the heavy weight category in judo

“ the most massive” in the judo. He obtained two Olympic titles in 1996 in Atlanta and in

2000 in Sydney. He was also a European and world champion four times.

His career change• David Douillet became a businessman. He

got closer to the political world. In 2009 he obtained his first responsibilities within the

UMP ( a right wing French political party ) and became a member of parliament.

4 - Cycle races…

The Tour de France is a cycling competition that was created in 1903. It was created by Henri Desgrange. It takes place every year in July with different ways each year and each day.

There are several jerseys :

The first in the ranking of best sprinter.

The first in the ranking of best climber.

The first in the ranking of the best young (under 25 or 25 years).

The first in general.

In 2013, for the hundredth edition of the Tour de France, it will start in Corsica, the only

region in metropolitan France that had never been visited by the race.

The winners of the tour:-Bradley WIGGINS in 2012 .-Miguel INDURAIN from 1991 to 1995.

Coming from an Algerian family, he grew up in Marseille. He has got three brothers and a sister. His nickname is ZIZOU

From a young age, he has dreamed of playing in Marseille.
