Categories for Projects
• Comedy – to entertain or amuse• Drama – tell a story with emotions and
feelings• News – report real current events• Documentary – provide a personal view• Instructional – teaches something• Promotional – presents an idea or concept• Public Service Announcement – changes
someone mind• Music Video (must be original music)• Sports – captures the essence of a sport
Live Action Videotape
• A production that includes full motion productions
• Live on-screen talent appears in the form of actors, instructors, hosts, or narrators.
• Media accepted are CD, or DVD.
• Time limit: 7 minutes

• Examples:–Fantastic Mr. Fox–Food Label Basics–Rules for the Playground
Animation (2 dimensional)
• Draw or create a 2 dimensional character who will be the star of your story, then make a video.
• Media accepted are CD, or DVD.
• Time limit: 7 minutes
2 Dimensional Animation
• Examples:– Cops and Robbers– Humans Vs. Aliens
Animation (3 Dimensional)
• Use clay, objects, or models to create 3 dimensional characters who will be the star in your story, then make a video.
• Media accepted are CD, or DVD.
• Time limit: 7 minutes
3 Dimensional Animation
• Examples:– How to Make the Lego X-Wing– Dance School– Medieval Animals
Sequential Stills
• A series of images from slides, photographs, still video or digital images rendered into a production using PowerPoint or Hyperstudio.
• They may or may not include audio.
• This could be an electronic picture book.
• Examples:– A White Stinky Moment– Do Dogs Get Tired of Eating the Same
Food– Get a Grip– The Gilbert Gang Goes to the TED

Electronic Photographic Essay
• These projects are a slideshow presentation that involves the organization of a number of original photographs on a single theme.
• Titles and captions may be used.
• Examples:– Angel Mounds– No Matter How Different We Are– Nature

Website Categories
• Personal – If you have your own personal web site
• Instructional – If you’ve done a web site for informational reasons
• Entertainment – If it doesn’t fit any of the other categories
• Include a “site map” (table of contents)
• This must be turned in on a disk, CD or VHS tape.
• Examples:– Geometry– Mrs. Tucker’s Famous Hall of Wax– My First ABC’s

Electronic Picture Book
• These projects must be original student work that has been scanned into slideshow software or original student artwork that has been created on a computer and imported into some type of slideshow software.
• An author page may include a commercially produced school picture of the student.
• Examples:– My Dad is a Superhero
Electronic Picture Book
Podcast
• A podcast is a digital audio program that can be downloaded and played on a computer or digital audio player.
• A podcast can be a stand-alone item or one of a series, though only one of the series should be submitted.
• Files should be in mp3 or mp4. RSS files are not required.
• All podcast entries must be available for download from the Internet, but due to a technological uncertainties all podcast entries must include a backup CD or DVD.
• Video podcasts are not accepted.
