From the Governor: It’s that time of year when we will be seeking qualified individuals to run for an elected office in the lodge. If you wish to be considered for an elected office, please let the Administrator know so that your name can be put on the ballot. Our Midyear Conference was held the weekend of January 18th-20th and a lot of information was given to those in attendance the main topic was in regards to the Women and Men becoming Gender Neutral which means we will all be one unit. This process will take some time to complete so the earliest they expect that to happen is 2024. This is huge undertaking by Moose International but the bottom line is that if we do not merge and become one unit there may not be a future us. More information will be provided at the International Conference in Las Vegas. Thanks to all that participated in the blood drive various fund raising events held during the month of January. If you are interested in becoming an elected officer, please submit your name to Tina Cowan or one of the Board Officers.(Denise Clausen, Fran Rochelle or Lynn Bartorillo. Congratulations to Lynn for receiving her Academy of Friendship degree at the Mid Year Conference.
Virginia Beach SPCA Barrel Donation Update Submitted by John Diamante
I wanted to thank you all for the outstanding support with donations for the SPCA. We are averaging approximately one full barrel a week. Since May 1st we have delivered the
contents of 33 barrels to the SPCA who is very thankful for our support.

February 2019 Aragona Village Moose Legion Corner The next Hampton Roads Moose Legion (HRML) 199 meeting will be held on February 9th at the Warwick Moose Family Center 1711, located at 1711 Warwick Moose Lane, Newport News, Virginia 23606 at 10am. This will be a Board of Directors meeting, nomination meeting, and membership meeting. There is NO Conferral or Lunch. The next Conferral will be at the Winter Celebration Saturday 23 February at 10:00. If you have not attended a Conferral please contact me so I can get your name on the list so you are accounted for. forms are on the board in the hallway outside of the Social Quarters. All forms must go through the housing chairman listed on the bottom of the form and must be received by him no later than February 9 2019. Thank you for your support on the raffle tickets for the free two night stay and breakfast for two for Sat & Sun mornings during the celebration. The winner of the hotel room drawing held 8 Dec came from the Warwick Lodge. There are currently three sets of raffles being sold to help support the Winter Celebration and our Endowment commitments. 50” TV & Sound Bar Raffle-$10 (See Howard or John L.) I have $5 raffle tickets for a five-day cruise out of Norfolk in May 2019 also a limited number of $5 raffle tickets for a picture frame that consists of $1000 cash and prizes ($300 worth of scratch tickets, $300 in assorted restaurant cards, $100 in ABC store cards, and $300 cash. These drawings will be held after the Golden Ball Ceremony Saturday night. You do not need to be present to win. We will need volunteers for our Hospitality Room at Winter Celebration. Please stop by our social quarters and sign up for a time slot to help work the bar or any other items on the list or contact me or one of the other board members and we can get you on the list. Thank you in advance for your assistance. As you know the lodges that are part of HRML 199 participated in the Coats for Families Project sponsored by WAVY-TV. Thank you so much to all the generous folks from our lodge. We collected more than last year. I turned in 66 outer garments and also some hats, gloves, and scarves. The Aragona Village Moose Legion continues to look for kitchen help for the Sunday Breakfast; Cooks, cook assistants, and dishwashers. Meal time is 0900-1200. Come out and see us the first Monday of the each month after Bingo at 7pm for our Inner
Circle Dinner, meeting, and socializing. All Aragona Village Moose Lodge male and female
members are welcome to attend. The dinner is $9 and is always a great meal and a good
time. For your information we are looking into changing the day and or time for this monthly
gathering to attract a larger group, if you have a suggestion of a specific time or day, please
share with me, John L, Howard, Paul, or Dave P.
