Our Goal

• Attend a college class taught by a college professor
• Experience residential life on a college campus
• Explore assistive technologies• Talk with college professionals
about services (Student Services with Disabilities, Financial Aid, Admissions, ADA Office)
You will also:
• Get to know college student leaders with disabilities
• Develop relationships and support networks with peers, student leaders and professionals
You will learn:
• Time Management Strategies
• How to get college accommodations
• How to access assistive technologies
• About college programs and services
You will leave College Bound:
• Self determined • Motivated • Confident• Knowledgeable
Typical Student Sessions
• “Mock” Freshman Class
• Assistive Technologies Hands-on Experience
• College Health, Fitness, Social, Career & Academic Supports
• Q & A with Disability Service Providers from Several Colleges, Financial Aid, and other College Programs and Services
• Transition and College Success Strategies
Ultimately, College Bound Can:
• Prepare for College Success
• Improve Retention Rates
• Promote Self-advocacy
• Build Leadership Skills and Self-confidence
