March 29–April 4: Day 1 (Christ’s Last Week)
Palm Sunday – The Triumphal Entry
Christ humbly entered the city of Jerusalem and the people
celebrated by waving palm branches and shouting
“Hosanna!” Today, when temples are dedicated, we wave white
handkerchiefs above our heads and shout
“Hosanna!” This reminds us to welcome Jesus into our lives just as
the people in Jerusalem did long ago.
Instructions: Write blessings you have received from God on the
palm branch leaves.

Cleansing Monday – Sanctifying the Temple
Christ was very disappointed that individuals were using the temple
for unrighteous purposes, so he cast those
individuals out to keep the temple a holy place. Just as the temple
needed to be cleansed so that the Spirit
could dwell there; we need to be cleansed so that we can be worthy
of the Spirit of the Lord. Christ provides
us with that cleansing power as we turn to Him.
Instructions: Search for the words below that will remind us of the
temple and the blessings that can be found
therein.

Christ taught several parables
when He walked the Earth. Parables involve us in the learning

Betrayal Wednesday – Offering and Receiving Forgiveness
Jesus was betrayed by someone very close to Him that was supposed
to be his friend. Jesus had
every right to seek revenge, but He chose to forgive instead. We
will be hurt by others in life. We
can choose to follow Jesus and forgive or we can become bitter and
angry.
Instructions: Decode the message below to learn who betrayed Jesus
and how much money he
received to betray Jesus.

Last Supper Thursday – The First Sacrament
Jesus Christ instituted the first sacrament after sharing a
Passover dinner with His Apostles.
(Read about the first Passover in Exodus 7-12.) Later that same
night, Christ went to the Garden
of Gethsemane and suffered for the sins and sorrows of mankind.
Partaking of the Sacrament
each Sunday helps us remember Jesus and what He did and continues
to do for us.

Salvation Saturday – Christ in the Spirit World
Christ’s spirit went to the spirit world where He was greeted by a
large multitude of people who had
been waiting for Him. There were spirits who knew about Christ on
this Earth and served Him, but
there were many spirits that didn’t have an opportunity to learn
about Christ. Christ organized
missionary work in the spirit world and we do work for the dead in
holy temples.

Easter Sunday – Life After Death
On Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene came to the sepulchre and found
that the stone had been
taken away. The tomb was empty because Christ had risen. Easter is
a time to celebrate the Risen
Lord and because He rose, we will all be resurrected. So, as you
celebrate Easter this year and look
for Easter eggs, don’t forget to seek and find the One who gave all
so that we could live again.
Instructions: In the first box, draw a picture of how Christ’s
resurrection has changed your life. In
the second box, draw a picture of something you have learned this
week as you have studied more
about the last week of Christ’s life.

What are some “things of the earth” that can distract us from
following Jesus Christ? (Use pictures or
words to answer the question.)
What are some things you can do to keep your focus on Christ
instead of less important things? (Use
pictures or words to answer the question.)

Instructions: In D&C 33:8-10, we learn about some of the ways
the Lord will help us as we are willing
to open our mouths and be missionaries. Being a missionary doesn’t
just happen one day. It is
something we should be preparing for right now. What are some ways
that we can prepare even though
we are young? Brainstorm with a sibling or parent and draw a
picture of 2 things you can do now to
prepare to be a missionary.

Instructions: Yesterday we talked about unity and how God wants us
to be unified. Have you
ever felt left out of a situation? You wanted to be involved, but
you just weren’t sure what to do.
Below are a few situations where you or someone else might feel
left out. Role play with a
parent or sibling how you could treat someone in one of these
situations. You could do good and
bad responses if you wanted to role play both sides. These are just
ideas to get you going. Feel
free to add in any situations that apply to you and your family.

James Covel – Keeping Our Promises
Instructions: In D&C 39 & 40, we learn a little bit about a
man name James Covel. He was a
Methodist preacher who showed a fleeing interest in the church. If
you want to know more of his
story, type “James Covel” in on the Church website and there will
be more history about him.
Answer the questions in the boxes below to learn more about the
importance of keeping promises.
What did James Covel promise to do? Why didn’t he keep his promise?
Look in D&C 40 to
find answers. (Section Headings in D&C 39-40 are helpful as
well.)
What are some fears or “cares of the world” that could keep you
from keeping your promises?

I am a Disciple of Jesus Christ
Instructions: In D&C 41:5, we learn how we can be better
disciples. A disciple is an individual who listens
to Christ and obeys Him. As we follow and obey Christ’s words, we
will make it through the maze of life.
When we choose to disobey, we hit dead ends and lose our way. Find
your way through the maze to the
Celestial Kingdom as you choose to follow Jesus.
