Combining durability, reliability and flexibility Bran+ Luebbe's P pump is designed for 24 hr continuous service, and to handle pressures up to 15 000 psig. Stroke lengths are variable between zero and 100% maximum capacity, making the P Pump ideal for continuous as well as batch production.
A simple, rugged gearbox design is the key to the P Pump's durability. Cross contamination
of process fluid and gear oil is eliminated because the gearbox is completely isolated from the pumphead. Double diaphragms protect against catastrophic shutdowns. A rupture gauge is standard, with an optional alarm also available.
The modular "building block" design allows any combination of drive, gears and pumpheads,
as well as stroke lengths. This flexibility permits multi- ple pumps to run through a common drive while enabling quick modifications, upgrades and expansions to be made to existing systems.

Force sensitive
Squeezeable film is 50% more accurate Sensor Products says its latest tactile force-indicating sensor film, Super Pressurex ®, is now 50% more accurate. This sensor is useful in assessing compression magnitude and distribution be- tween any two mating or impac- ting surfaces with much greater resolution than standard indica- ting films. Applications exist for both manufacturing process control and machine/component inspection and calibration.
Super Pressurex sensor film comes in the form of a large thin sheet. When placed between interfacial surfaces, the sensor film instantaneously and permanently changes colour to reveal minute measurements of dispersion and degrees of pressure. The intensity of this colour is proportional to the amount of force applied, allowing the user to actually quantify the stress characteristics across the surface. For more precision, the psi can be determined by comparison of the sensor film to a colour calibration chart (conceptually similar to in- terpreting Litmus paper), or by us- ing one of several imaging systems that Sensor Products supplies.
The film is a valuable aid in machine calibration, determining precise unit pressure distribution between components of machine assemblies such as frames, shafts, teeth of gears, gasket and flanges, clutch and brake plates, glue and adhesive jigs, roller nips, welding heads, and electronic component packaging. Other applications are as diverse as ultrasonic welding, determination of effective placement of strain gauges, and more accurately measuring the interface pressure in mechanically attached joints. This enhanced sensor film is suitable for invasive intolerant environments that cannot accommodate traditional load cells and other transducers.
