Murray combination meter sockets and loadcenters listed on this page are Underwriters'Laboratories Listed as service entranceequipment with bonded neutrals. The 100ampere through 200 ampere JA devices havemeter socket sections supplied with 4 meterjaws for use on 120/240V AC 10-3 wireservices. These outdoor/indoor devices have apullbox section that meets or exceeds EUSERCrequirements, and load wiring may exit topor bottom.400 ampere JB, JK and JL devices are rated10-3 wire 120/240V AC. The units combine a400 ampere load center with a self-containedmeter mounting device for use with a Class 320lever bypass, K-4 bolt-on meter or Class 320non-lever bypass plug-in meter.These 400 ampere devices have mountingpads for line conductors with two studs perpad to accommodate NEMA two hole stylecompression connectors normally supplied bythe utility for underground service. Alternate setscrew lugs are available. See Accessories onpage CO-6.Wire range is maximum allowable for wire-bending space provided. Lugs mayaccommodate larger wire. Refer to NationalElectrical Code or product wiring diagram forspecific wire sizes.

Murray "combos" forconvenience...A full line of combination meter socketdevices in single, compact enclosures forfast, labor saving wiring and installation.Combination meter sockets consist of a metersocket section, sealable by the utility, andeither a main circuit breaker section withoutbranch circuit breaker provisions or a mainbreaker section with branch breaker provisions.The roain breaker section may be selected withthe main breaker factory-installed or withprovisions for field installation. 60°C/75°C Wire RatingMurray circuit breakers, Style MP-T (through125 amp) are listed by UL for use with 75°Cwire, at the 75°C rating. This listing allows useof smaller wire sizes in many applications.Consult table #310 and Article #336-26 of the1993 N.E.C. for application details and limitations.

When using aluminum wire,the following procedure isrecommended:1. Strip insulation completely from end of

wire to desired length. Avoid nicking orringing wire.

2. Wire brush exposed conductor strandscompletely.

3. Apply a coat of oxide inhibiting compound(such as Fargo Mfg. Co. "Fargolene" orequiv.) to exposed conductor strands.

4. Insert the conductor into connector.Make sure all strands of conductor arecontained and tighten connector screw tospecified torque.

5. Check all connections and retightenas necessary. Compact combination meter socket with
